U2 sang about the problems in Ireland many times before this song was released in 1986. The War album was almost entirely focused on that. Check it out!

"Of America".......which these days has become a curse word. This amazing nation .....dragged into continual wars by the one party state, where both allowed political parties dance to the pipes of the Pentagon....Ironically Russia hasn't been communist since the 90's and allows about 18 opposition parties. Except those who are supported by Washington. The unfortunate Ukraine has a story or two to tell what happens then. Fascists will gain the upper hand , just like in 1933 when the allies looked the other way on purpose during the Nazis huge rearmament of Germany which they all knew what would follow . A convenient war which would turn Germany into a U.S. vassal state and would make the U.S. a superpower thanks to Germany's brightest and baddest. No worldwars and Uncle Sam would've been as powerful as Brazil or Canada. Something the autonomous Washington state department and her neo con think tanks are never allowed to forget.........Hi Zel ......... Eastern Europe has proven to be the ideal place to cook up European crisis , which always spelled opportunities for America.

Anyway , Canada too is one of Uncle Sam's Nato mercenaries, desperately trying to cut up the Russian Federation into bitesize morsels which is going to make the west sóó much safer....causing a Russian, Chinese and God knows how many other nations alliance who are tired of CIA meddling in their affairs trying to make them as prosperous as Afghanistan , Libia, Iraq ,Ukraine etc etc. *With* "God's Blessings" not to forget.....
