It’s utterly impossible to convey to anyone who’s not a drummer as to how “spirit-breaking-ly” impossible this groove is to play (on the drums). I’ve been playing (or attempting to play) this for over 30yrs, and my now gray-hair-covered b@lls still crawl up in my throat every time this song comes up. I feel bad for Jason Bonham having to learn this groove knowing the expectations that were on him being Bonham’s son. It was brutal trying to get out to feel good just paying proper respect to the song. I wouldn’t want to be in his shoes.
