So glad I found your video. Every other video I have found about this tells you to buy a harness to disable the switch inside. This is so much easier and costs nothing.

Here's the thing. A vehicle has to reach a proper temperature to burn off impurities in the oil that have built up from it running such as moisture. If it stops and starts at every stoplight it never has the time to reach a good temperature and burn those impurities off. Also have you ever wondered why diesel trucks last so long? Yes they are built heavier than standard gasoline motors but we also leave them running all day sometimes for weeks at a time and they do not heat cycle meaning they don't contract and expand constantly. With a start stop your vehicle is warming and then cooling warming and cooling and that my friends is not good for the longevity of a motor.

I just left the Toyota Dealer in my area where i purchased my 2024 Toyota Corolla le Gas only that just hit a thousand mile break in period but just to warn you if you're not using (Toyota Brand) 0w-8 Oil and Filter for my engine or Toyota Brand 0w-16 for yours (YOU BEST SAVE THE RECIEPTS) Because if you don't have proof your using these products (AND YOU HAVE FUTURE PROBLEMS THE WARRANTY COULD BE VOIDED) (This was a warning i received from the Dealer.) Just make sure your using the Toyota Brand filter i really don't think they can tell what type oil is coming out of your car. Mobil 1 is the Company that makes Toyotas Oil Brand with some slight changes in the additives used. I was going to do the Oil Changes myself using Mobil 1 0w-8 with Toyotas brand of filter being sold at Walmart, the Oil is 27 dollars for a 5 Quart Container and 7 Dollars for the Filter. The total price being about 34 Dollars plus tax when the Toyota Dealer wants 144 Dollars for the Service. So what i did was move up my 5 and 10 Thousand mile free services to 1 Thousand and 6 Thousand miles to make sure i receive my 2 Free Oil/Filter Changes from the Dealer. Most Important the Oil and Filter changes are DOCUMENTED BY THE DEALER WITH MILAGE. Its still going in for an Inspection before the 2 yr mark. So i do not hear any BS about my Warranty. I know i am not going to put 20 Thousand miles on this car in 2 yrs because like you i own more then one car. Good luck with your Rav 4. As you can see your Rav 4 is already almost a yr old and it only has 5 Thousand miles. Just make sure you take it in before the 2 yr mark because Toyota still owes you 2 Free Oil Changes along with Tire Rotations and Inspections. You can get the 10 and 20 thousand mile Oil Changes anytime you want them. YOU ARE DOING OIL CHANGES THE RIGHT WAY, BREAK IN OIL/FILTER AT 1 THOUSAND MILES, THEN EVERY 5 THOUSAND MILES OIL /FILTER THREW THE LIFE OF YOUR ENGINE. EVEN 4 THOUSAND WOULD BE GOOD. TOYOTA WANTS YOU TO BUY CARS EVERY 5 TO 7 YR'S. OIL AND FILTERS ARE CHEAP CARS AND ENGINES ARE NOT. Again good luck with your Vehicles hopefully you see 3 Hundred Thousand Miles out of them because you are on top of the Oil Changes.

My 21 transmission is having problems on cold start and when going around corners, it takes time to pop into Gear and going from reverse to neutral to drive. It’s always a bump I get a lot of slam shifting. I’ve only had it for 50,000 miles. Any suggestions? Thanks for this tutorial. You really have helped a lot of of people thank you very much. sounds like your transmission definetly is rough and has issue, should take it to service for diagnosis.

We purchased 2016 PILOT EX AWD 6 SPD brand new in Dec 2016. As of today 05DEC20214, we have 39k Miles on it . Most of the time our vehicle stay in the garage because we live on base @ FT Riley. So far we have had four oil/filter change and tire rotation done at Honda. Our Warranty is long gone and only thing Honda recalled this vehicle was for Lose HOOD latch and we have 10 year extended Warranty for Start Button on dash which still works fine. Oh and we changed the battery on our Key Fob once. I do plan to take it to Honda Dealer and have them change the transmission and rear diff fluid. So far Pilot has served our family very well and do plane to keep the SUV for as long as possible.

Okay so I've done some research regarding intervals for trans oil. For MANUAL trans Tacomas it's recommended 30-50k miles. For automatic, Toyota does not provide an interval according to the maintenance manual, which (according to the dealer) implies its a lifetime oil. Of course replacing it around 80k miles (again for automatics) is a good idea. If you've never changed it and you're above 80k miles, the dealer recommended not replacing it since the trans has grown accustomed to the oil and it's better to leave it alone.
