Good video, practice practice practice . I been riding for awhile and still don’t know it all. I hit a empty parking lot all the time just to practice slow speed control. And I watch a lot of different videos to learn from different people.. good job 👍

I might curl around the cones in your gate a little more. Plant your front tire at the second cone coming in and make it a curve around your entrance. Going right first....be at the left side of your gate and already beginning your turn and vice-versa. You can go a little further out to your cones in the circle until the nearing the exit. Then you might feel the comfort to straighten out your exit.

It looks to me like you’re not getting close to your 12 o’clock cone. Both right and left turns but as soon as you got close to it. You were able to make it out the gate.

Well what's the whole thing amazing one more person telling us how to control
@motorofficertraining

As a very begimmer rider its best to learn total clutch control first. You do need to load that that throttle while clutch is dis-engaged and while the clutch is being engaged to the gray zone. Loading that throttle is a sure fire way to burn your clutch plates and riding that brake is unnecessary wear and tear. Learn straight line start offs first with no throttle. Control the clutch first to take off. Dont rob yourself of those skills of being in total control at every point in your training.

Hey Joel. It was a pleasant surprise to see your videos after watching you guys practice with Robert Simmons. I was there watching you guys. The price was a little steep for me to participate. I live out in Terrell Tx. It’s a fairly long ride through town to get to Melissa Tx. Anyway, I would like to practice with you sometime. We practice out here in Terrell from time to time, it’s just hard to get anyone actually interested in practicing with me. I enjoy practicing slow speed maneuvers. I usually practice with my wife on the back with me because that’s how we always ride. I have about 40 cones. We should get together sometime and practice. Don

You hit it on the head. Most people don’t use the rear brake.

I was confused about the same thing. And then I looked at the box. The flap has it as plain as day. Anyway after doing 5 installs, I now know that the bigger one goes on the right. My video on this would have helped you. 😆

I recall watching one of your install videos for tab performance sli-pons, but I don't recall seeing that nugget of info - was a little while back so I probably forgot about that. I should have watched it again :)

The stock rear brake pedal must be for people 5’8” or less. Awful and awkward!
@NTXMCCoach
@NTXMCCoach Жыл бұрын
That is a possibility. The majority of riders don't use the rear brake at all so maybe HD has never had any real complaints about it. Even shorter riders can benefit from rear brake pedals that are lower angle, life softbrake makes.

Thanks for the information. I try to avoid grinding the floorboards.

First I will state, scraping footboards "at speed" (maybe 20mph and above) is something I try to avoid. I don't like to be that close to dropping the bike when going that fast. Even in slow speed operation, generally speaking, there is usually no need to do extreme leans in every day riding. There have been some instances, though, where I have needed to make a quick u-turn in a very small parking lot, requiring a less-than-18-foot turn. Having options is always good. I debated including that info in the video, but decided to leave it in for those of us who practice slow speed operations regularly. Again, though, extreme leans are not "usually" necessary.

I have floorboards on my 2012 Dyna Super Glide Custom. I pump the rear brake while accelerating when passing other vehicles and where moving forwards at such speeds, riding the rear brake mostly in traffic situations.
@NTXMCCoach

Interesting. I am guessing you mean "drag the rear brake" when riding very slow speed? "Pumping" the rear brake may cause the undesired effect of the motorcycle lurching especially at slow speeds. That depends on how hard you pump it though.
