C'est parce qu'appeler une ambulance ou aller à l'hôpital, c'est risquer de devoir hypothéquer la maison de ses parents, sa propre maison, ou tout simplement finir ruinée ou à la rue. C'est dingue. Juste pour clarifier, en tant que Française, notre système de santé n'est pas gratuit comme certains pourraient le penser, mais c'est presque comme s'il l'était. Dans une situation similaire, on aurait appelé une ambulance, ils seraient venus, auraient fait ce qu'il fallait faire, et personne ne serait ruiné. Mais aux États-Unis, c'est complètement différent. Les gens sont confrontés à un dilemme : appeler ou non, en attendant qu'un miracle se produise. C'est fou et très choquant à voir du point de vue d'un étranger.
