this is so ironic 😭😭 at one point cynthia arivo, who now plays elphaba in the movie, sang thank goodness, a song sung by glinda in act 2 of the musical, and now i’ve found a video of ariana grande, who now plays glinda, singing a song sung by elphaba 😭

She’s incredibly talented. This is actually better than the performance on NBC, in my opinion. Less pop and more theater. She’s not always my cup of tea, but an undeniably talented woman - child in this video. And well, her performance as Glinda is incredible.

@ oh absolutely! You can’t deny that. Anyone who may not like her cannot deny her abilities. That’s just not logical, and it’s very petty. I don’t hate her. I actually like a couple of her songs, but she’s not my favorite. HOWEVER, she was phenomenal as Glinda, and I am a stage over screen guy, but she’s killed that, and I really enjoyed her interpretation.

To anyone doubting she was a theater kid, there you have the footage And it was probably recorded by Frankie; many videos of Ari from the late 2000's/early 2010's were recorded by him in his Broadway years. People love to hate Frankie, but he was and is Ari's biggest supporter - *then and now.*
