Appreciate your mission. Although I moved on from Dallas ~15 years ago to Austin, then Seattle, then Los Angeles and now Tokyo (all of which still have relatively thriving scenes) I went back to Dallas for 2 weeks last year. The once-thriving music scene was totally dead, and the prior nightlife spots were gentrified and reflective of the soulless / algorithmic & homogenous culture we see on Instagram and Spotify daily. If the smaller scenes that give us diversity of thought, diversity of sound die out and AI continues assisting "creators" rather than musicians then we're fucked.

Think it’s fair to say the majority of artists now operate in a way that removes the economic section from the ‘sustainable’ Venn diagram! Sustainable; Social, Economic, Environmental. How do we find roads to the centre? It all feels pretty bleak and impossible to confront individually … and calling it out comes across as a bit moany. But heck , there is a lot to moan about! On a positive note, how do we find roads back to the centre? Sean, with your huge depth of experience and intelligent ramblings… it’d be great to see you chat along with @@garyseconomics this year of 2025 ✊

Loved this song on my first listen, which was strange for me at the time because my taste was Metallica, Rage etc. Still love it.

Thank you David for this. Thank you and Bernard for those wonderful albums. I absolutely love them both. I must play (on guitar) Yes at least once a week and always try to do the vocals (which I cannot do very well). The one song that I feel is the most beautiful song is Although. I listened to it first in my late 20s (married with two kids) laying on the settee with lights down low, just listening. It became on of my top 10 songs. I’m now approaching 60 and still listen to it at least twice a week. I feel the hurt, the happiness, the pride but most of all it’s just love! Thank you

Take that song and send it into space. Can't think of a more fitting piece of art for our species to introduce ourselves to whatever's out there.

kzbin.info/www/bejne/on3Gkn-cbpatq80 I prefer the original - This man certainly hit those high notes very well... but there's a sense of struggle, and aggression and fast paced that the original doesn't have...

This has always been my favourite song to sing when I'm alone pottering about, making a cuppa tea or doing dishes etc. Obviously I sound nothing like David, but I've always got a lot of pleasure from singing it. Probably sounds awful but in my head it sounds ok. So I found this really interesting. And when David starting singing at the end, well that was a real treat. Thanks for the video, David. You also have a lovely talking voice, as well as your amazing singing voice. Hope to find more of you in videos like this.

The moment at 3:06 in the single when the melody crosses over and down across a resolution of the chords is one of the best things IVE EVER HEARD in popular music. I can't imagine what it must have been like to have discovered and actualized that transition. "YES" is more than a very good song- it's an outstanding transcendent life affirming recording. I can't praise the composition, the arrangement and the vocal performance highly enough. If anyone wants to know what 11/10 sounds like, "Yes" is it.

I actually tried this and it worked! Head chest, head, chest. Amazing. It's like it's you just tell your brain where to go. Or the air. Like a switch. It's a bloody job on though. 😆 l could actually imagine a big hollow space in the back of my head! Don't take the piss folks. Like a Hammond organ spinning round. Hey I'm not ace. But l feel the swap. I will keep it up and not tell anyone. Amazing! Thanks very much. David. As happy songs go that can't be beat!
