2:00 I think there is a good chance that it's because you have a bot running a human account. I know other platforms strictly prohibit running bots on human accounts - it's in their terms and conditions. Is there anything in Twitch's about it?

Seems like the API is not *really* there for anyone to develop for it which is silly: They were not prepared for just anybody coding their own bot, they expected a couple of companies putting it out as a product but no home made bots to be made so they are not willing to talk to you as an user if you don't present yourself as a bot developer instead: They very likely made a change, let the main bot developers know about it privately but nobody else because they assumed nobody else would use their API openly as intended.

I think you're right. I also feel like they must have rolled out some new bot detection with, dare I say, "AI" that "helps" them detect abusers. I think it's also identifying false positives. This is all speculation of course and I can't rule out the terrible code I write 😅

I wish the JetKVM supported a KVM switch. I had a PiKVM V3 and it had issues with video on a couple of system. The price of the V4 at over $420.00 is too pricey. Having to buy 9 of them is also pricey having to use 9 network connections.... A very nice unit, no question about that.

That does seem rough and I am not here to tell them how to run their community or defend any bad actions, but it has to be tough when companies knock off their product and provide no support whatsoever forcing them to ask them in the the PiKVM community.

@TechnoTimTalks
@TechnoTimTalks 15 күн бұрын
I don't multi stream because of twitch's policy on multi streaming and how you can't show other chats on screen. This makes it hard to do interactive streams like this one. If KZbin had more interactivity controls with their API I would consider it.

I got a week ban on Twitch once. I had set up a camera in front of my fish tank for a few weeks as cheap online storage so I could catch what was happening as they laid their eggs. The most it had was maybe 2 viewers. I got the email and they said I was suspended for inappropriate content. This was years ago when they had plenty of bikini streamers accidentally showing things, but no, my fish were over the line.

I lost my partnered account 5-6 years ago because I got hacked, did something to get it suspended, and they changed my email but not my password. So I could get in but then couldn’t appeal, send in a ticket, or reset my password. They never respond when I email support directly but that’s my only option. Like no response ever. Extremely sad, I got partnered within like 6 months, and they killed the momentum I had, I just gave up…

While it's terrifying to be seemingly banned by a robot with no human interaction, It's also a little concerning that twitch is sending an official email saying your account has been compromised and instructing to click a link in the email. That's HOW you get your account compromised typically 🤦‍♂

I would like to clarify the situation as someone who's never streamed on Twitch. Twitch can permanently ban you through an automated process without warning for any reason and without telling you why. Once you're banned you can appeal the ban but it requires a human to review it to unban you, which can take a long time. You are guilty until proven innocent. There is no support number or email to contact support. Even after they unban you they won't tell you the specific trigger that caused the ban. Tim was unbanned because someone from Twitch saw him streaming on KZbin, knew who he was, and unbanned him from Twitch. If you're starting out with no audience, or have a small audience under 1k, and get automatically banned, then you're screwed. It sounds like Twitch doesn't care about streamers unless they are semi-famous or well-known with a large following. In my opinion, Twitch sounds like a horrible platform to stream on.
@TechnoTimTalks
@TechnoTimTalks 24 күн бұрын
Thanks for recapping. I am in the same boat as far as auto banning goes, I am only affiliate. I got lucky because someone recoginized me, which I agree is not going to be the case for most. I really wish Twitch would just lock you out and have you reset your password. That would probably fix a majority of these types of bans. Having this happen and streaming live on KZbin was eye opening and I am considering doing it more.

@TechnoTimTalks i understand that but bots in chat that reply as if engaging in a way that someone who is real can would be considered viewbotting. Thats why on youtube you can report comments for fake engagement. You know its a chat bot but someone else may not so it may give off the impression that you have engagement when its actually a bot. Thats why i say "technically". I know its not a view bot. You know its not but a random person unaware may think they are talking with someone real. I dont think twitch cares about the amount of bots when considering view botting.

Yes put databases into kubernetes unless its at such a high utilization that it can alone fill a whole node at which point then you should probably move it to its own node but until then there is no point(and most homelab deployments dont get to like 1% of that) and dont run a cluster dedicated to a single application that is well a huge no no in my opinion also i personally run ROOK which is CEPH under the hood but CEPH cluster isnt hyperconverged with cluster that is also a no no in my opinion

That's not always good advice imho. It was true for many years, but it definitely shifted in the last two years. I mostly agree, though, when you dedicate nodes to PG/MySQL/Maria and use an operator, it works really well. It directly integrates with your logging, monitoring, sets up backups and does all the HA stuff for you. Never say never
@LampJustin
@LampJustin Ай бұрын
03:00 this is most likely a longhorn issue. Longhorn has been problematic for me in the past as well. I therefore switched to Piraeus that uses drbd9 under the hood, fixing all the problems I had. It's soo much faster and nodes don't get blocked forever on a node drain. Edit: There's also a Proxmox CSI driver now. Even though it seems like it, you do not need to have a Proxmox cluster. It also runs just fine on a single node. Only downside is that the PVC is bound to a proxmox node and a failover to another node does not work.

If you are pulling the spool out of a factory sealed bag there really isnt much need to dry the filament even petg. The biggest issue I have had printing here in MN is that my pla eventually gets brittle from absorbing moisture and starts breaking off as it snakes into my bambu printer from the ams. This is when drying will make a difference and I have tried but its probably better to just recycle the spool and get some fresh stuff at that point because the spool was sitting out for nearly a year without a dry bag.
@TechnoTimTalks

@TechnoTimTalks I would expect that is more of a cover their butts warning on their package. Try printing a benchy with one of their spools before and after drying it. If the quality is noticeable then continue drying it otherwise save yourself the time

regarding PBS: please read the docs how GC works! I have PBS running in LXC on PVE, with a dataset passed through. the dataset lives on a HDD pool with NVME special vdev (block size for special vdev set to 4k for the PBS dataset). I have thousands of backups and about 1,1TB real used storage garbage collections takes under a minute if I remember correctly. that's because GC is only on metadata level and in my case metadata is handled on NVME. but the most noticeable effect of special vdev is, that listing of the backups takes at most 2 seconds, instead of about 15-20s without the NVME special vdev before. wendell from level1techs did a video on zfs special vdev, highly recommended
