I will say in defense of the design that I work on a military installation and many aircraft, especially helicopters, often just sit out in the elements. Plus, many airbases are joint bases with more than just one branch on them. Great video tho beo

To explain some of the inconsistencies of just what branch of the military this base is under, it could be what’s known as a “joint-base”. During the 90s and 2000s I believe, the military what downsizing, and to cut down on cost, enhance inter-branch cooperation, and make the logistics more efficient, military bases start merging together into joint-bases, and some were specifically created with this in mind. Joint-Base Lewis-McCord in Washington State is a notable example of this. This could explain why an air-force base has tanks and marine aircraft.

I think those are actually Galils or a different AK model, since they have a weird folding stock and a weird Picatinny handguard. Odds are Galil or AK, leaning towards AK due to the magazine and fire selector being AK-style.

The reason the Zancudo base doesn't really have much in the hangers and around is because most of the aircraft around were probably stationed at a different base because the Zancudo base was deemed to be less crucial to ongoing conflicts from what I know about lore, thats also why the hangers are able to be purchased by players because they are just so empty that the military might as well rent them out to those who can afford it.

The easiest answer is that Fort Zancudo is a joint base.

I wouldn't class Fort Zancudo as an Air Base, solely because (and I could be wrong), the airfield itself would be a lot longer to accomodate for a larger variety of aircraft. I think it is sort of a mashup of a FOB, an Air base and military base.

I'd say maybe 50% of these can be taken seriously (as in wrong within the "GTA" universe), Just the fact that it takes place in the GTA universe, about 90% can be dismissed as "we don't care, fuck the military" Air Force is the main transportation service for all of the other branches, minus the army moving a few big planes so other random military goodies are normal. Every aircraft in GTA can be summarized as a hybrid between the US and Russian versions. The lazer is a split between the Su-27 and the F-16. And yea Airforce has some ground troops with guns for security, but those AK's are straight outta some bush weed.

You should do sins for each aircraft. So many things bugged me from backwards and or mirrored instrumentation on cockpit avionics, to the way holding your slowest speed (idle throttle), turns off your engine. Little things that wouldn't have hurt general gameplay for those not used to flying, but would have at least made it seem they consulted a pilot.

Air Force Brat here, no matter the branch, no matter the job classification, every soldier is a rifleman first and patrolling with rifles as they were doing, while not common, and definitely not in formation like that unless this is a training base and they were cadets, does happen. And another thing you can add to the sins is that this base is too fucking tiny. There’s no barracks, housing, buildings for support staff, buildings for the Commissary or BX (or the other branch versions). Actual bases a fucking *miles* big on the homeland.
