The truth is that we don’t know much about the Dobunni at all because they were illiterate so they left no written records. All we know is what the Romans wrote about them in only half a dozen records, and what the Romans wrote about the people they conquered is only a version of the truth. At the time the Romans arrived in Britain they certainly weren’t the most powerful and warlike tribe here, they were the Catuvellauni, and they seem to have made deals with the Romans rather than trying to fight them. They sound smart to me.

The original name is also believed to be something akin the lines of “joining of two” or something along those lines. So I don’t know what the fuck you’re talking about or where you get the info from, because from most records they were peaceful, not even warring with the Catuvellauni and basiclalt immediately siding with Rome.
