I bring just as much stuff as you. Absolutely no one touches my stuff but me and one person. Nothing gets weighed until I'm observing it being weighed. No yard should have any issue with that especially when I'm bringing things in containers ready to be weighed and dumped afterwards. Forget the no bitching allowed, this is business. I don't do this for funsies.

@Adventureswithmike13 күн бұрын
Wars do affect scrap prices. But the question you should've asked is, what are they doing with all the scrap?That's being produced by the war.. There's probably billions of dollars of metal That's laying around who's getting that?
@neohistoryfan10142 күн бұрын
@@Adventureswithmike1 I bet once a war ends they probably go in and remove all the scrap. I feel like we might be heading into World War III given the present international situations. you could probably be a local area scrap coordinator if the US should get involved in the Middle East again (and Ukraine)

It's only a payday because we do this for business, not for funsies. So Mike can bitch all he wants if he notices something that might be wrong. Too many people moving too much stuff is a no go for me. Nothing gets weighed or moved without my direct supervision. This is thousands of dollars, hours of hard work and sacrifice. I've never had a scrap yard tell me I can't watch everything be unloaded and weighed, it's industry courtesy. Sometimes they'll try to help the unloading process go faster, just speak up and tell them to wait if you don't trust them. There's other work they can do and other customers to help while you get set up for a transaction.

I have a question, the guy that built my house had bought a ton of double woven copper wire here and used it for fencing materials, i was wondering what grade it would be classified as, since it has been outside for over 20 years and has heavily oxidized, just wanted to know what it would bring at a scrapyard.

hi mike, i have trouble sometimes knowing what is stainless and what is aluminum, is there way to tell besides using the grinder and seeing if it sparks, i went today to unload some aluminum and had some pots that were stainless, the worker could just look at it and tell it was stainless, i felt like a noob for a second, but oh well, stainless is heaver too i think, ive been scrapping around 6 months now so im still learning, thanks for another video, watching from austin texas
@Adventureswithmike15 күн бұрын
@Dave1380-bq9fk We have stainless steel pots are usually shinier. But if it's something that I don't know, I will take a pair of cutters and try to cut the end. Of the metal, if it cuts fairly easy, it's aluminum. Stainless steel will not even cut with a pair of cutters, very hard material
