Marshall now has a modded 1959 and JCM 800. The 1959 is marked at $3699.99 at Sweetwater. I have a $40 JOYO British Sound pedal that does the same thing. Double blind sound test anyone? I'm using the $3660 I saved on the Marshall circle jerk to buy beautiful steaks. $3700 for $129 worth of parts. Those guys are high over there at Marshall. Maybe stop huffing the glue.

@@Biblrocks I had a 1987X Plexi Reissue back in the Y2Ks that I slammed the front end with a DOD 250 and it was the best, crunchiest sound ever. My source tone, the tone I was always going after was the sound Alex Lifeson had on the first Rush album. "Finding My Way" in particular. I just got tired of lugging it around and found that I could get just as close with pedals that have been improving incredibly over the past several years. With the pedal boards I've put together all I need now is a speaker cabinet and an electrical outlet. I can be set up and ready to play now in 30 seconds. PEACE!

Amp gain for me- I only play single channel non master vol amps- with wattage suited to situation. To me a master volume amp is a pedal. I occasionally use a pedal for flavor- but not for sound. That said- love to hear people play with effects-it can be a skill in itself.

Always preferred to get my base tone ACDC-ish crunch from the amp and roll down the guitar Vol for cleans. For decades it was mostly a 2203 or 4104 with a boost for solos, but with the stock 67 1986/68 Greenback halfstack and 71 1987/68 Greenback halfstack I currently own, I don’t even use a boost. The clean, edge of breakup, crunch, and bluesy, harmonic laden single note sounds I get just from the guitars Vol control and playing dynamics are freakin unreal. Though I suppose if I wanted that singing that singing sustain like in the video I’m gonna need a pedal.

Recently felt that "deep need" for a Strat😵💫, and as could not afford a Fender, ended up with a hardtail Squier Contemporary (those with the crazy wiring). Fell in love at first touch, and even more after giving it some caresses. Besides some fine tuning, mine needed 2 corrections: 1st smoothend the fret edges (lil sharp) and polished frets. Upgrade 50%. 2nd, and "major" one: One issue, many in the forums mentioned, was the one with the laurel fretboards. They may come in different conditions. Mine came super dry and unruly to bendings. First gave it some Dunlop Oil ...not happy ...felt sticky ...did not get better. After 2 weeks gave it a try with a method I found here at YT: Polished up whole fretboard with nailbuffers of micromesh (the 3 step Ebelin from DM, 2,25 €). 6 of them did the job, going from clean to smooth to buffer. Result: Shines like glass and bendings slide like on ice ..."Cannot stop skating now!" 🥰

Amp gain for me... distortion pedals never got the low end enough for me... but I like a second amp for my clean tone honestly but i've never finished that set up. I've been too busy building my bass set up. I found a cool amp. I like the orange Obi-Wan 500 and it has good FUZZ however, if you engage the FUZZ with the foot pedal, it's a lot louder than the clean Chanel.It's the volume's never equal so I wish I could get one more orange OB one 500 and just have one with my FUZZ driven in and then two 8 x 10 cab pedal board It's about done. But they are rack mountable so maybe I could put a wireless rig a furman And I think that would be a sick rig even though people are all using modelers these days. I wouldn't be opposed to getting a little bit of a bigger paddleboard and maybe adding a model or a small model or on there so if there's anything else I wanna add to my paddle board instead of adding more pills I can just do whatever else with the model, but I'm still a amp guy for sure😮 a small mixer and a nova base analog synth for some 808 synth Sounds. Thought it will be kind of cool like sometimes on the verse lay off the bass guitar and play some synth on that little analog thing.

There are so many pedals that deliver low end… And low end are cool in your bedroom with big amps gain with attenuator but you don’t need low end that are covered by the bass when you play with a band. You just need the rights frequency.
@creepymccreepers4 күн бұрын
@ agree on low end being added with a band.. but I like amps with enough channels to get clean grit gain and lead
@laurentperez52293 күн бұрын
@ You’re also able to do this with a clean amp and multiple gain stage pedal (stacking them or not). If you drive a 15w to clean sound in your bedroom, how do you manage your clean/dirt sound for a gig in a club? For me that was always the main problem with driven amp, could you have the same sound in your bedroom and on stage with a band?
@creepymccreepers3 күн бұрын
@ same for me with me using my bass amp on my KZbin videos, I mic my ten in subs and add a mic preamp. then take a di from my amp and put a plug in on it and work on my low tone and split the mods but I will never sound like that live.
