Thanks for this. However, I want photos I take on WhatsApp not to be saved on my phone at all. I already don't have other peoples' images saving onto my phone, but it's the one's I take in WhatsApp. When I want to use my phone's camera to take a photo (not in WhatsApp just as a camera) obviously I want that to save. But when I take a photo or video in WhatsApp, once I've sent it I don't want it to clog up my phone's memory at all. If I want to see it I'll be able to look at that chat in WhatsApp, I don't want to have it in my phone's memory. Is that possible?

Google Photos and drive is more good to use as you ca use sync Google with both Ios and Andriod and it works on all platform so changing phones isnt a problem.

Sorry but it is not a good idea to use google take out to download your photos in google photos because it looses all metadata! This is a huge deal. Unfortunately there is no way to do it unless you do it manually... photo by photo, video by video. I have not found a simpler way, sorry.

In Amazon Photos, it doesn't have anywhere near all of my photos in the file folders. It has only 11,000 photos in there and I know I have more than that on my phone right now, and I have years of photos from my phone backed up to Amazon Photo. How do I get all of my photos that are in Amazon Photo downloaded to an EHD please? How do I get all of my photos and videos to show up in the Photos folder in the Amazon desktop app so I can download them please?

This appears to be exactly what I need... however....what if the current filenames are not the same number of characters? Some of the files in my folder are 4 characters, other files are 10 or more characters. Can I remove all characters, (obviously there would no longer be an 'extension' in the file name) not sure if that will cause a problem? Or can I simply remove all characters, and then within the Add section use the Suffix field to add .jpg? Thank you!!

One of the biggest (and most infuriating) failures of iPhone photo organizing is that you cannot choose to order photos by ANY parameters except oldest to newest, or newest to oldest. *That's it.* On any Android phone you can also sort your photos *by name,* which is only sensible, given that on any Windows/Linux device, you can order them that way too. But not Apple -- the king of "We know what's best for you plebs". 🙄

Why do you keep saying that "you can only do this on your Mac"?! That is completely false. Any Windows (or Linux) machine can access iCloud through any web browser, enabling it to do the exact same things, with creating new folders/albums, add keywords, etc.

I have what is probably a very basic question: With "Finder" on my Macbook Air, I can access the original photo files (Macintosh HD > Users > “username” > Pictures > Photos Library.photoslibrary > originals) that otherwise are accessed through the Photos app. To get to the "originals" folder, I must right-click on the .photoslibrary directory and select "show package contents" to get to the "originals" folder. I cannot seem to get to this directory in Adobe Bridge. In the "pictures" directory I see the .photoslibrary, but cannot get any further. A work-around is to export all of my photos from the Apple photos app to a separate directory, but that doesn't seem to be the most efficient. Would you have any other ideas?

It might be interesting to try DigiKam. I've not tried its duplicate finder, but its similarity finder finds images when I lose track of which negatives I've scanned. And it is free.

What do you think of Excire Foto for deduping?

What about he Plustex a320e? Its the only affordable scanner that's a3, but there are next to zero reviews. It was released in 2021.

Is it possible to use the FastFoto FF 680W scanner on 2 PCs? I've been scanning old family photos to my laptop. My wife is now ready to start a similar project with HER family's old photos. She will want to save them to her own laptop with her own preferred file structure. How can we do that?
