This was my last year as owner/operator of the New Hope Barge Co. before selling to George Schweikart. Note Todd Hamilton playing the strings and harmonica while telling the history of the barges, and Caroline James moving the tiller from front to back a mile out of town.

Does anyone know what time this happened? The WA Monument, US Capitol, Empire St Bldg and Statue of Liberty were all at 5:36 on the same night, 12/31/24! Crazy!

This clock just got refurbished and didn’t do the hours anymore. It only did the four quarter whistle four times and the hour whistle (which is the tall one tooting off the hours) only did it once be fore it chimes on the hours

thats because of the location of the runways if you are traveling to south europe you need to turn as fast as possible but if you go to helsinki/the north you dont have to turn that much

The company has come a long way since 1960 when I flew from Idlewild Airport in New York late in the afternoon on a DC-6B to Gander NF and then on to Rekefekick which wasn't a large airport where we sat down to a breakfast meal in the airport then reboarded for Amsterdam and finally a night time arrival in Luxembourg 24 hours in all! On the way back because of runway repairs we had to stop in Keflavik as well.
