I remember doing this course. It was a blast. Different provider. However my group were more MASH than Marine. Walked from Matlock to Ripley. Midnight calls from our bed to undergo a task. Jump out the back of a moving jeep pretending to be parachuters. Drinking wine at 02:00 with my tutors. Ours had river rafting. Communications, rambling. Orienteering. On your own. But 2007 man that was great. After a quiz. "Grimes the shortest distance between A-B?" "follow the roads." ... "why?'" "they have signs. If I got a map. Roads are landmarks" I never got such a giggle and points. My tutor shook my hand after. Said "you're not army, but you should be Police. Dry wit, keen eye, shit soldier lol" He died. Smith. He was a schoolteacher in Long Eaton. I respected him. When I took it too far, he put me down.
