We bought an 08 plate r56 back in 2017 as 'the wife's' car. On paper it's needed a lot of work (turbo oil feed pipe, high pressure fuel pump, thermostat, gasket seals). But love the thing to bits and every time we've thought about selling it I can't bring myself to do it, such a joy to drive! The engine sounds clattery, they all do. The 'death rattle' is heard when you rev to about 2000rpm, it's unmistakable, literally sounds like the chain scraping. Fingers crossed you never hear it! Have fun with yours, hope it serves you well.

I’ve owned my 2015 SDV8 Autobiography for a short time and unfortunately had to replace the oil cooler 🤦🏻‍♂️ (common fault on the v8) I’m now getting a hot burning plastic/rubber smell on some shorter journeys… any ideas? I’ve had it back to the garage but they can’t detect anything, nothing on computer etc but worried something might fail on me costing money. I’m fully prepared to spend money and change stuff to prevent failed as it’s the nature of the beast in the LRs I just don’t want anything catastrophic hopefully🤞

A decent panel filter, large intercooler with silicone hoses and a Gfb diverter valve. Made mine pull better and sound awsome 👍
