This is such a helpful story. Thank you guys for sharing it. I’ve had a series of addictions throughout my life and successfully went through rehab, but years later relapsed and returned to rehab - a few times. I found Kratom a year out of my last rehab stint. It was my secret weapon. Until it wasn’t…now 3 & 1/2 years addicted to Kratom, the withdrawals are too much for me. And I’ve gotten off opiates, twice, among other things (went through alcohol and benzo withdrawals too.) My Kratom withdrawals feel like they rival any of my other withdrawals - too painful to quit. Period. I’m trying to sort out whether I can taper on my own. Maybe I can just get myself down to a few pills a day. I’ve been buying kilos of powder and drinking copious amounts. Not wise for being 5ft 3 barely 100 lbs 😬 It’s effecting the quality of my life and I’m uncomfortable, feeling really bad a lot of the time. If and or when I do get free I should get on vivitrol! I’m shaking my head that I probably need to go to rehab again, for Kratom. But I think I need help - you are helping me get honest 🙏

Sorry , it’s a cool thing but I can’t watch new “Sublime”. All it does is make me miss the real deal as a teen in the 90’s in south OC and Brad as the bands front and soul. Those are shoes nobody will fill. No offense. I want to go home. 😢

Love Hamilton! Great episode, Dave! I'm a long-time Spotify listener from back in the day before Chris was gone. The first time I heard Chris talk about research chemicals, I couldn't believe it. I also used to order all sorts of obscure research chemicals from a website called Canada RC, which I think was similar to Chris'. I didn't know anyone who even heard of research chemicals before, so when I heard Chris talking about them, I was blown away! One day, I went to make an order, and I was redirected to the Department of Homeland Security website. That was the end of research chemicals for me, lol. I related to him so much, more than anyone to this day. I'll always have a huge spot in my heart for the Dopey podcast. All that being said, I used to love taking all sorts of psychedelic chemicals. So, I love Hamilton! I eventually tried poppy seed tea and was hooked, which turned into morphine, then heroin, then fentanyl, which lasted almost a decade. Now, I'll have 5 years sober, God willing, in February. I can't wait for the day this podcast has a million more views. You deserve it, dude. Also the bleeps are a damn shame but I get it.

There’s zero evidence to support this statement. You’re basing your whole life experience on another life you know nothing about. How does this make sense to you? 😂 You’re trippn

In the 80s and 90s most treatment centers gave junkies clonidine (a BP med) stuck you in a room and if you were lucky they checked on you. I think (and this is only my opinion) the treatment center killed him. Jerry was so sick he should had been in a ICU not a treatment center. THey claim opioid withdrawal can't kill you but it can if you are in bad health. Between 1983 and 93 i was in 13 twelve step treatment centers.

I literally felt a jolt in my legs, it was 5:32pm I was shocked and scared, I quickly looked at bulbs hanging from the ceiling to see if they were moving 'cause at first I thought that jolt was an earthquake and the bulbs were still, with no movement at all. at 10pm my sister called me that there has been an earthquake near your area then I went online and there was a quake about 120km away from where I live and it had happened at 5:31pm!!. I had this experience while I was on meth.

7-OH is gonna be a serious problem. I go to a kratom bar that sells it and there are people who are thousands of dollars in debt, maxing out credit cards to get it. A friend of mine who worked there is currently being charged because he walked 50k worth of it out the door and did all of it in a year. I've done it myself. It's as good as a perc.

It feels like your unabashed obsession with asking about the first time he did each individual drug and style is you trying to live vicariously through his addiction, and it’s very strange behavior to put your guests through.

Speaking of soulful singing, probably Oteil Burbridge does not get quite enough recognition for how Amazingly Well he sings a lot of the classic Garcia ballads, some of which seem deceivingly simple but are far from that, to sing well. I’ve been incredibly impressed w Oteil’s singing. Check out some of his solo shows, etc. 👍🏻Jerry would be proud.

Thank you for this very important story! Janna is amazing. I have seen first hand the thousands of lives being destroyed by this completely unregulated substance and fooled by it's insidious marketing. Working at a treatment center and being part of one of the world's largest kratom recovery communities exposes me to people daily who are suffering, struggling and some have even died. I know advocates will troll and deny these dangers, but we would not be hosting virtual support meetings nightly, sometimes multiple times per day, with an attendance of 30-40 people in every meeting REACHING OUT FOR HELP. Thank you for this crucial message. If you are reading this and you are struggling, YOU ARE NOT ALONE! There is a way out.

Let me guess, from a “reputable vendor”. I used “reputable vendors” and never used extracts. I had what most would consider a “light” habit compared to many. Kratom still destroyed my life and my health. It was an addiction that took me as deep as any other addiction complete with horrific physical withdrawals that made it very hard to stop. The worst of all was 3 grand mal seizures in 5 months. I’m glad you have a very different experience with Kratom but there is a flip side to the “kratom save lives” rhetoric because it’s also destroying and TAKING lives too.

Any person I know saying it helped them come off opiates was still in the honeymoon phase and it only lasts so long; then they are doing the original opiate on top of kratom just trying to regulate and feel normal, creating an even more dangerous situation for their body. You are better off going to detox and addressing the underlying issues rather than trading one addiction for another

7OH is not Kratom. It’s synthetic
@decimadavis5065
@decimadavis5065 11 күн бұрын
No it is not synthetic. It is the most potent isolated alkaloid mitraginyne. I am willing to bet their are some synthetic products on the market now, but to say 7oH is not kratom is FALSE.
@crazybassplayerdude
@crazybassplayerdude 11 күн бұрын
7-Hydroxymitragynine occurs naturally in Kratom leaves and in our bodies when we metabolize Kratom, so it is inaccurate to say it’s synthetic. Just because manufacturers can chemically extract it doesn’t make it “synthetic”.
