Thank you for the video that I was amazing with the shims. All of these so call mechanics on KZbin when they take the old brake pad out They throw away the shims. Sometimes they can't fit him back in so they think they don't go with them because there's some embedded on the new brake pad. Question for me is why on the front rubber shim gos toward the pistin but on the rear it goes on first then another shim on top of it and the metal hits the piston? Is the rear supposed to have that rubberized shim towards a piston? On the rear calipers you put rubberized one on it first and then the other shim on top of it so it is metal to the piston?

Thanks for the great feedback! I did it in accordance with the Toyota service manual and haven't had issues yet, maybe next brake job I'll reverse it as it does make more sense the way you're saying and see if it makes a difference! Cheers

Hey buddy, one question, can you tell me what diameters are for the front and rear rotors please? I’d really appreciated

How long did it take you to do all these?

If I wasn't recording it would've taken 2 hours or so.

hey question, do the front calipers not have guide pins. If they do where are they ?
@sexylexy35359 ай бұрын
Nope no guide pins on this model. It's the brembo style 4 pot calipers

Over torqued wheel studs isn't a good idea. You just damaged that stud, basically it's scrap metal, unsafe. That's why they have torque specifications, so you DON'T damage the stud by over tightening. This is only recommended when you've a great life insurance policy on the driver of unsafe vehicle. Oh, invest wisely.

A torque wrench is supposed to be pushed down on not pulled up and it's supposed to be slow and steady or it's never gonna be anywhere close to accurate and your car is still on the ground which will also make it inaccurate lift the frame up so just the wheel is barely touching and wont slide when torque is applied and then torque

my impact gun is a electric matco one and it has 1200 ft pounds of torque

Simpleton: "Shoot...I don't know how the wheel flew off cuz I torqued them at 550 to test my impact gun out on KZbin " Mechanic: "That's going to be about "800 bucks. 300 for the damage and 500 for being stupid."

@jaredwaggener8713 жыл бұрын
Hey just to make it easier on you next time, when you put the torque wrench onto the lug nut switch it to loosen and then rotate the wrench 180 degrees while still on lug and then turn it back to tighten and you will be able to push down on the wrench and being able to put your body weight into in, it will save your shoulders in the long run.

A mastercraft small impact can take off 130ft lbs no problem. Idk wtf you were trying to show here
@seen0b0dy3 жыл бұрын
And why are you showing us this? Any Dewalt or Milwaukee 3/8th impact could have removed that, if it was rusted or crossthreaded or a axle nut then it'd be a test this is like taking a Lamborghini through a school zone and calling it a test
@marcbromley64153 жыл бұрын
You should not be jerking a torque wrench, your body weight is enough, and 130lbs is nothing for a buzz gun
@brandonrobbins18553 жыл бұрын
Way to over torque it. Quick rule of thumb from a tire tech 20ft lbs per lug nut 5 lug = 100ft lbs is proper torque

SHOULD TELL US THE CARS MFG AND TORQ SPEC CLEARER. 130 IN LBS SEEMS HIGH. BUT THAT DOESN'T MEAN THE F150 Isn't the 150 inch lbs he stated? THE HIGHEST TORQ. I EVER DID WAS ON A FUEL CELL NUT FOR A REFUEL / DEFUEL FITTING ON THE LEFT WING of a "Triple 7" which WAS 1,295 INCH Ibs and another at about 950 Ft. Lbs on ANOTHER fitting on an internal wing fuel pump...but those numbers have changed since then....amazing place to be is in side at WING-BODY JOIN...3 ft + wide cell wall with a tapered end to end wedges ABOUT 27 FT LONG, the CENTER spec is about 6' 6" tall! Squeeze work! Very Confined space! TUBES AND WIRES ALL OVER. (GAS GUAGE WIRES!) All green paint or yellow paint inside depending on the corrosion control protection is USED.
