not hating , but the 3d view made me feel nauseated... ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

Hey man I get it but you should definitely try making a new game in the future based on the original camera mechanic, possibly a puzzle game would work best.

IDK I would honestly trash those combats for a unique game like that. Nowadays the market is full of boring 2d games with pixelated graphics. There are tons of games in concurrence.

Trading the unique controls to make it more hack and slash, crunchy, and darksouls style which is much more popular right now. I dont hate it but you should make a crpg in the previous style, that would so cool.

They're both very different styles I personally like the 3D more it seems more unique imo

I wonder, did you ever try keeping a fixed camera in the 3D version?

like the 3d version more, it just seemed like you weren't able to animate the models good enough. video kind of had the opposite of the intended effect of making me not want to buy the 2d version.

I think the camera isn't even the biggest weakness of the gameplay shown (lots of isometric or faux isometric games get away with fixed viewpoints or limited rotation cameras with absolutely no issue). The problem, at least at a first glance, was animation and unresponsive controls, not perspective.

Making myself an zelda-like action rpg focused on blasting ennemies, I tried my hand at making the game go slow-motion to get the same effect you have in Fountains,. I also use Godot and did it using a tween to have Engine.speed_scale go from 0.1 to 1 in like 0.15 to 0.2 seconds, and it sure creeate a small lag, but for reasons i don't get it doesn't produce the same top notch effect you get in fountains... Was wondering if you would be wxilling to share the general idea how you yourself did it Other than that, your game looks fantastic, good job!

For the Isometric game for future project, you can make the camera freeze at one angle and it can rotate 90 degree on each side. This can be manipulated later on like Souls series by hiding enemies with hints on dead angle that when adjusted shows the hidden enemies. *BTW, I am not a game dev or anything so you can disregard my opinion.*

It's funny that the expectations for intuitive controls have been raised. I'm here thinking about games like Super Mario 64, Dark Souls, and even notably _Mooncat_ within UFO 50, all beloved and with "clunky" controls by todays standards. I bring Mooncat up specifically because it fits into an exanding genre of games which seek to intentionally reject the paradigm of standardizing game controls and movement, along with titles like Getting Over It and Jump King.

There is a part of me that wishes that the 3D style still worked. However, the most important thing is the gameplay. As long as it's fun to play, that's the key.
