Bruno all these ships that stop in Ponta delgada for one day does not give them much time to leave (spend) much money in the city.

Há alguém no Açoriano Oriental que não sabe fazer contas. Se estão previstas 133 escalas nos Açores (somando os portos todos) e sabe-se que apenas uma parte dessas 133 escalas correspondem a Ponta Delgada (Portas do mar e resto do porto de Ponta Delgada) e sabendo nós que um ano tem praí 366 dias, como é que dá 1 escala em cada 3 dias nas Portas do Mar? Esta gente nem para continhas simples dá. Só para termos uma noção, das 94 escalas efectuadas em todos os Açores em 2011, só 56 foram em PDL.

Thank you Ponta Delgada, had a fabulous time. Was told not to expect to much, but how wrong the information was. Your Island was stunningly beautiful. Thank you for some lovley memories. I was on the Ruby Princess, as above, looking out, think you can see me waving on the top deck!

We were on Equinox when you shot this video. Rough day, especially when you consider that we never got to see your island paradise; the docking was too risky and we headed back out to sea and off to Lisbon instead.

Fascinating clip. We were onboard Equinox during this attempted docking, so it's interesting to see it from this perspective. Captain Bouzakis had two pilots aboard, as conditions were extremely windy. But eventually they decided that it was too risky to dock and we left beautiful Ponta Delgada without stepping ashore. A shame indeed.
