Bill, I just wanted to say YOU have 100% been my inspiration for training my Boykin spaniel over the years. This video was served up to me recently and it reminded me to at least let you know how important your method--and particularly your patience and comportment with the dog--has been for me when I did what was my first DIY hunt training for my pup. Your best advice has been to keep the whole endeavor FUN for the dog...make him WANT to do this for you. Make drills short and easy. Reinforce with limited reps and positive motivation. Stop when the dog is frustrated and try again another day. Consistency and repetition. Like an old friend of mine once said "you don't train the dog to hunt, you train the dog to hunt for YOU..." Of all the different trainers I used to build my program, yours was the foundation. Thanks SO much for what you do and what you've developed👌

I love my Shadow Pup. He’s 15 months old now. Gonna run a few Derby’s this fall. Although we mostly do HRC stuff. He is super sweet and has the best personality..

We are halfway through training with our lab (she will be 10 months old when we get her back from her 3 month "boot camp"). This will be helpful information for us to continue with fidelity to her current training. ❤

When you send the dog from the kennel, and you move to a different location to throw a visible bumper, why do you not call out "mark" and then send the dog on it's name? I appears that you treated that as a blind, sending the dog with "back".

Great job on the new membership library! It’s a great investment. We are recommending it to all our clients. The way the topics are categorized makes it easy to find a topic of interest quickly or direct someone to a specific topic or video. Thanks

Cool build. I have a Casita that needs similar suspension modifications. However I hate those obnoxious blue white lights. Give me a 2700K colored light. There’s something about those 5000K+ lights that just drive me crazy and I hear more more how it bothers other people. These kids and their stupid, bright ass lights… Don’t want to be blinded in traffic I want to be able to look and see that a vehicle is marked by its lights, not blinding me by its lights. It needs to be seen from an appropriate distance, not from outer space. I have both color lights in my Casita. The more “yellow“ lights in the sleeping area, and the more daylight looking lights in the cooking area. It is good to have a choice.

It was such a pleasure meeting you and thoroughly enjoyed your seminar at Dennis & Cindy Hayre. I concur with you about Dennis & Cindy being exceptional people. I sure hope you, Dennis and Cindy get together and do another seminar, hopefully in better weather. I have a handful of a dog who is out of FC TRU'S LITTLE CRUISE aka "Cruiser". My dogs strength & energy level is huge & a hard head. I'm happy to be getting your emails & videos. I was also happy you drew my raffle slip for the 3 small bumpers which I'm using as you do. All the best- hope we meet again at another seminar. 🐾🐾

Bill: do you ever teach with the collar on vibrate rather than using electricity? Thanks.....Mac
@hawkeyemedianet6 ай бұрын
The answer is yes. There are dogs, people, and situations where tone and vibration is very useful and important. .. . good question.

I am a little irritated here. The concept of this is negative FOLLOWED by positive reinforcement? I thought its more used for positive punishment. Is it a misunderstanding? I cannot use e collars for legal reasons. But I could use vibration collars. These would work as in the first concept, right?
