How did this run with that hole in the cylinder wall? Was it just on one cylinder. I cant image it will run well with water going into that cylinder ..or did you weld that up?

What I find interesting as I continually navigate the KZbin algorithm is that my 3 prior videos of this tractor which have no music and more details have lower views, while this compilation video that uses music to cover up wind noise, and other audio artifacts has much higher views.

Nice tractor, well equipped. I had a chance at a local GW, but it was a bare back with no hydraulics and IIRC no PTO, and I balked at the price. It is gone. Wide fronts are more common around here, so I am trying to be satisfied with our narrow front G.
@TractorHoarders
@TractorHoarders 2 күн бұрын
Thanks! I'm pretty pleased with mine. I wonder if they had used that one you mentioned for tractor pulls. I see where pullers tend to strip that stuff off to drop weight. I had wondered if mine was ever used for pulling because of the pressed steel wheels on the rear, but not sure. Nothing wrong with a narrow front G. I wouldn't mind having one of those.

My dad restored a John Deere B when I was a kid in the 1960s. I used it to mow the horse pasture with a John Deere sickle bar mower. I was always impressed with how well thought out, well-engineered, and user friendly it was.

Sounds like good memories to me. I’ve always got my eye out for a sickle mower to couple to one of these and give it a try.
@EvanPerson-yu7gs
@EvanPerson-yu7gs 5 күн бұрын
@@TractorHoarders They work really well if you keep them greased and change out the broken sections that hit rocks, so the bar doesn't plug. It takes some practice going around corners. You mow to where you have the length of the sickle bar left to mow, then raise the bar with the left foot lever, make a sharp turn to the right, and use the right brake to swing the sickle bar around and start the next pass, dropping the bar when you get to the start of the unmowed grass. You need a tractor with a tricycle front end to make this work. After my sister and I left home my dad sold the tractor and mower to his neighbor, who had some other old tractors and really wanted it. I don't know what happened to the neighbor or the tractor and mower after that. This old B had two fuel tanks. A small one in the back and a large one in front of it. My dad said the smaller tank was for gasoline, and the larger tank was for kerosene. Start the tractor on gasoline and when it warmed up you could switch it to run on kerosene.

You obviously know what you're doing as you've done this 100s of times but we haven't and we don't know what we're doing. It would help if you could work a little more slowly, let us see each part as you take it off (slowly) and put it back on. Imagine you're talking to a slow-witted five-year-old. Just take things nice and easy. Oh, and if you could just show us how to clean the carburetor as some of us can't just order things off Amazon and get them the next day. Also, I can't just order "carburetor" off Amazon, so if you could tell us exactly what to order. Thank you.

Hello, and thanks for the detailed comment. I very much appreciate it. I have many snowblower carburetor troubleshooting / repair / replacement videos. Of course it depends on what kind of engine you have, but if it’s a Tecumseh engine, like these, I have many videos of doing those with varying levels of detail. An unfortunate thing with KZbin and other social media platforms is if I make the video longer and more detailed, less people will watch it through, and then because of that, KZbin won’t suggest my content for people to view. It’s complicated. I hope some of the existing videos are helpful but will take your suggestions into consideration for future videos to be made.
