You got a good buy even after putting parts into it. The table looks pristine, which is unusual as most Bridgeport's, or clones have scars and holes in them. The vari-head design is nice, but a lot more complicated to work on. I once bought an Alliant clone of the larger Bridgeport model and had to rebuild the head. It was a learning experience to say the least. As you said, they are wonderful machines and at one time were the mainstay of every job shop because of their versatility. Larger, more specialized machines could do more metal removal, but the little Bridgeport was always busy.

It's really hard seeing so much still useful stuff out there. From the tools to the scrap. Quite familiar with the industry. My wife's father is a retired logger, my father is a retired forester. We grew up together in WA.

This was probably boring to some people, but I found it very interesting. My dad was a logger in NW Oregon and later in N. Calif on the Klamath River and around McCloud. Both of my grandfathers worked in a sawmill as did one of my uncles, who was the millwright at the mill in Cherry Grove, OR. That was an old fashioned mill, fully powered by steam other than the saw filing room. That mill ceased operation in 1958 and burned when they were in the process of removing machinery, most of which was going to be scrapped anyway. It burned because it was constructed of wood as most early mills were, no modern steel buildings like these two that were used as warehouses. You didn't mention the location of the mill site and that is a good idea. It was refreshing to see the lack of vandalism and thieves hadn't been there for whatever copper they could find. Someone spent a lot of money even if most everything was used, the loader certainly looked new. I'm surprised that they haven't had an auction of what is there, but maybe it is tied up in litigation. My dad retired from logging in 1984 if I recall correctly and a lot of that was due to the Spotted Owl issue. The Spotted Owl was always a symbol so those opposed to logging could get a lot of it shut down. Closing mills is a good way to do that as the remaining mills have to get logs from much farther away and that drives up the cost of lumber, hence higher home costs. I read an article a year or so ago, where it was discovered that another owl species was gradually pushing the Spotted Owl out of habitat in N. Calif. The solution was to try to thin out the populations of the other owl species to save the Spotted Owl. Mankind can't seem to let nature do what it has done for millennia, we have to interfere. Thanks for posting this, I understand your feelings having worked at that former mill site. I spent a little time working at a planing mill, but was lucky to spend four summer working in the woods, logging with my dad. Looking back it was the most enjoyable job i ever had.

Thank You for making the video! Similar things in Europe too, i found this strange since the price of construction wood has realy ramped up abowe the extreme in north Europe the last couple of years, but the supplier are still heavily underpayed and the delivery prices are still a joke, it is still just not worth selling large batces of timber anymore, the supply strains to the sawmills and the loop of downspiraling is cloosed and people loose the jobs, has to leave their homes, etc.

Does these have a mulcher attachment?

the issue with these is longevity--- when you need parts in 5 years they wont be around, thats why i paid extra for a kobelco

Nt45 is a dream for any repairs which there will be. The engine bay has room to play in. The ku and ste are nicer but do have other cons. Yellow boom pivots look weak compared to the ku.

Absolute POS! Do not buy it. I got one for new shop. Didn't unbox for 2 months. Was factory defective. Jet sent me a new motor. Replaced it & still defective. Sent me a new motor backet. Still defective. Took it to auth service. Still defective. Been a year now. I've lugged it around, wrenched on it for a several hours. I'm out a grand and I haven't sanded a damn thing. BEWARE

No matter what size of machine you have a person who uses it will always over load the machine at some point life in general

Are they two different pieces in the vise? This is not good as only the widest piece gets properly clamped. It is much easier to tilt the parts in the vise instead of tilting the head.

Is it possible to put on a hydralic drill/hammer with a rigg on this? Is the hydralic pump able to handle it and plugs for it?

Looks too have decent power, but size of boom too track size looks off...i recon 6" extra width and lenght with an extra 200lbs of weight in tracks it would be alot more comfortable and capable

Is there anybody out here that will say the exact amount they frickn paid for it? With the items included or not? I tell you it's amazing in the lack of brains out there. I could care less about anything other then total cost cause I will fix any little problem and make it better. I need to know process and total cost, TOTAL, THAT MEAN EVERY DIME YOU SPENT ON IT...

Great Overview! Is the auxiliary attachments driven off the one pump? If you are using a snowblower or something will that cause one track to move slower since some of the fluid is being diverted to the auxiliary connections?

I wonder this stacks up against the Sany sy16c? I like the expandable tracks that the Sany has. Adds a lot more stability.

If you change the rotation, I believe you have to flip the blade around.

How do u operate the boom swing ? There is no pedal for it? Seems like a decent machine compared to other cheap ones.
