I think the most important lesson for driving on snow and ice is, plan ahead to manage your grip. You have a finite amount of grip. You can use 100% of your grip for braking, but when you want to start turning you have to back off the brakes or you will lose control. Ditto for accelerating. This is true on all surfaces, but is most obvious on snow and ice.

only thing i wonder when it comes to snow maps in assetto corsa is what car should i even choose? cause like i'd love to just use a miata but it's not that they come with winter tires in any of the relevant mods

The shopping trolley analogy is quite misleading and not the way one should think about it. Pushing or pulling doesn't matter because a car... well, it's not a shopping cart. What matters and what you're feeling is weight transfer. The reason why slamming the gas to stabilize the rear end works is because it's sending more weight to the rear tires and giving them more grip. The same happens in RWD cars and there you should always give it a bit of throttle to stabilize. The difference of course is that with FWD you can slam it, and with RWD if you give it far too much, it will go into a powerslide.

@@42Simulations Well not really. If you think of a car as a shopping cart, you will avoid adding throttle to straighten the car, but that's exactly what you should do.

Thats just nitpicking, most people dont know the difference between awd and 4wd and those who do, know that the car obviously is not a 4x4

Thank you! From my experience there is no dry line, it's just less grip all round at the moment, but the developer is constantly pushing it and working on new things so you never know, it might come in the future.

Too easy, can't even compare it with RBR. Having said that, it's a lot of fun anyway. Somehow you don't get a good feel of the acceleration, but it's in it infant stage so we will see.

I don't really mess with traffic mods, I just join multiplayer servers with traffic, which is a lot of fun because you drive with/against other human players + you have traffic too. Besides the Shutoko servers, my favorites are the LA Canyons and Union Island servers.

Funny how guys who never drive wrc car, make mods of it. Then, guys who never drive wrc car tell about their feeling of the car 😂 R1/2/fwd - is a great class to really test the physics and compare it to the real thing. Wrc 8 and rbr did it good. Dirt rally 2 and project cars 2 - did it okay, same as some ac mods, but not much.
