That is a great questions! Both have advantages and disadvantages. Using the fiber cement boards does help keep the cost down on homes, is more durable than brick, however you do have yearly maintenance. Brick is more expensive however many people like the look of a 100% brick home and there really isn't any maintenance unless you have cracks in your mortar joints. Most builders these days are putting some fiber cement board on homes, especially in the back. Most of the time it has really come down to my buyers preferences.

I am in the market to purchase a house soon. After looking at numerous developments I am far from impressed as they all look the same. I hate this open concept as that is not favorable any longer. Are there any homes with an entryway and separate areas any longer?

Most of the builders have gone to the open concept living spaces. We have found a couple that have a separate dining room but usually the kitchen and living room will have the open feel. A lot of the spec homes will look the same because they are able to order the design products in bulk which helps keep the price down. You would most likely have to build to get the look and feel that you are wanting. What area are you thinking of buying in? Grand Homes are always beautiful! Rockwall tax rate is 1.64% currently. Fate is a little more difficult to tell you because it depends on if a home is located in a MUD or not. The homes in Edgewater have a current tax rate of 1.66% but I have seen some of the tax rates as high as 2.46% for homes located in a MUD.

Hello, what was the price for each Highland model home? You stated pricing for each Lennar home. I know you stated Highland started at $291k to $350K but never told the price of each model. I really like both Highland Models 😊

@@KenyaChambers-d6y that is a great question, for the Brightland homes you choose different design option and structural changes which will affect the price of each of those homes. In the Lennar homes, they do not give you any options to choose designs or make structural changes therefore you simply get what they have built.

i lived in Houston for 12 years before moving to Los Angeles and after 27 years living there, i retired to where i was raised in New Mexico. about 3 years ago i spent a month in Texas looking in East Tx, Southern Tx and the Hill Country/Austin up to Dallas.....and with the exception of western Hill country.....the rest of Texas was one hot humid mess...now that i'm older---the weather is much more important and i gave up moving to Texas and if it wasn't for the higher cost of living in Los Angeles for me-a retired person, i would gladly have moved back to SoCal....it has the best all around climate of all the contiguous states...New Mexico sucks for climate and most everything else.
