I'm not a vegetarian (and certainly not a vegan) however, about 3 years ago I began limiting (to almost nothing) any animal flesh from my diet. giving up beef was no issue as 1- I don't "love it" and 2 - who the hell can afford it anyway?. I leaned into poultry and fish (both of which I like). More recently I realized I'm eating less and less poultry - it just sort of "happened". I do eat eggs, fish (mostly tuna and salmon) but it's still fish and some chicken. Honestly after a short period, I don't really miss anything. And sometimes, just sometimes - like if someone else is buying - I might have a bit of beef. Call anytime, happy to talk with you about it (also I dropped almost 35 lbs this way).

Thanks! I think that after these 6 months, I'll probably end up with a similar lifestyle where I don't really bother to eat meat, but that I will occasionally if it's the only option available. So far I've noticed that I don't really miss eating meat-I miss being able to walk into any restaurant and know for a fact that I could get something, but that's just more the convenience than the meat itself.

The truth is that I think this is one of the best videos on the subject, the only thing I think you got wrong is at the end with "we can't call him Superman by his name" as I understand it, the court established that it is completely legal to call characters who enter the public domain by their names, even if their names were trademarked. just no you can't put their names in the title, as an example you gave of "homelander", you could call him superman without problems, since his series is called "the boys". but nothing happens it is a very common mistake, and well now commenting on the subject, I think the reason why these last characters that became public domain have not worked out is because they are not characters with a "fanbase" or that have the interest of the people in telling stories with them, mikey is related more with the atrocities that his company has done than the character itself, the truth is I see the public domain as the next step of a character, going from being a character with exclusivity of a company to being part of the heritage of humanity, like Dracula or the stories of lovecraft, and I think that one day the fandoms will realize that their characters becoming public domain is not something bad but good for them, Finally they will be able to work, profit and earn money with characters that mean a lot to them and that they love a lot, I am part of the Godzilla community and I have seen how Toho has shot down so many fan projects, and in the future (2050) when the character becomes public domain, they will be able to express and take their passion with the character to the next level, without fear that Toho will shoot them down. I know that there is a comic writer who already said that he will be writing a story that he will publish when Superman becomes public domain and I am more or less like that with Godzilla, I have even found someone on reddit who also plans to make a universe with Superman and Batman when they enter the public domain, I really see this as an opportunity to tell stories with characters that you would never have the opportunity to legally and in a certain way, you make them more mythical by being something that belongs to all of us

I will like to put this out there, the whole separation of church and state was for the purpose of ensuring Governement couldn’t intervene in religious affairs. In a letter from Massachusetts’s baptist community Jefferson was informed they were afraid of being persecuted or treated different because they were the minority religious group. Jefferson said separation of church and state to keep the Government out of religion not the other way around.

I think the big reason why people are getting fed up with the slasher trend isn’t so much that it tarnishes the original character, but rather it’s just unimaginative and uninspired. With a character so iconic, you’d expect there to be more effort put into their usage - otherwise, it just comes across as lazy. 6:27 - Actually, while it’s true that the original Superman didn’t originally fly, the flying aspect originated from the Fleischer Superman shorts - which are already in the public domain. So technically… one the character becomes PD, you can use that particular incarnation of the character to have him fly. It always helps to know your research.
@SilasKade4 ай бұрын
Thanks for bringing this up, because the whole matter of Superman's flight is really interesting! The Fleischer shorts were being produced while superman was still jumping in the comics, but if you wrote a story with Superman flying, you still might be tempting a lawsuit, since he was arguably already depicted as flying (as an art mistake) in Superman #10, and I've also seen people point to a cover of Triumph Magazine in 1939. He was also flying in the radio show, but the radio might be in the public domain as well. (I think they are, but I honestly do not know with 100% certainty, because pre-1976 radio broadcasts are a whole monster copyright-wise) Personally, I think you're right and the first time he is really flying is the Fleischer shorts. To my eyes, the Triumph Magazine cover and Superman #10 do not show him definitively flying, but I wouldn't want to go up against WB & DC's lawyers. In short, I hope you can forgive me for crushing all this nuance, because ultimately I thought that saying "he can't fly, but if you want to put a guy in a blue suit with red undies and have him lift a car above his head, all you’ve got to do is wait 10 years” was kinda funny.
