@@steveruss84 thanks mate, it's a shame the DC's are mainly confined to shunts and the occasional 951/2 and 2nd loco on most other trains, would be nice if they could go over to the Coast more

I was using a new microphone and unfortunately forgot to turn it on before recording and I only realised at the last moment right before the Locomotive Engineer gave us an iconic train horn.

We've all done something like that before! Years ago I got a lift up the Raurimu Spiral on a goods train. I took several pictures, but when developed, light had got in, probably when changing the film. I kept the prints/negatives knowing I would not get the chance again. Over 50 years later that has proven to true, but have been up and down many times since.

Coal comes from the west coast to the port of Lyttelton and the the wagons go back empty

So in each wagon is coal from the West Coast which then gets taken to Lyttleton Port of Christchurch to be shipped away
