Overall I think he does an ok job of describing this washer. However I do feel like at times he’s a little over critical of it. That being said, my analysis of this machine is simple… you do get what you pay for meaning while it MAY be sold as an entry level basic washing machine, you CAN get more time out of it with a few basic repair skills. Most people get to their first issue with it and immediately kick to the curb then go buy a new one. I’m here to tell you that if I can fix these things anyone can. You won’t need any big expense tools. And with a little bit of research you can decide if your repair is worth it or not. I mean if it’s already not working what’s the worst that could happen? And one more tip… before you start your first load of laundry, locate and review the manual AND make sure it’s on a level surface, or make it level using the adjustable feet. Trust me it’ll save you down the road.

When and when do you put soap in. I use Tide powder not liquid.

The agitator on this machine works like crap. All the cloth stay exactly in the same place where you put them in. Nothing ever moves top to bottom like this guy says. It takes forever to wash a load. I would never buy this machine again. You will be sorry if you do. I expected more from GE.

What is the purpose of AUTO SOAK, and how is it used?

So, since there is no port to put the fabric softener in, do i just use the downy fabric softener ball? Or is there some other way to put the fabric softener in? Do i actually have to stand there until the rinse cycle begin and physically add the fabric softener?

I forgot to add my cloths dont get rinsed. Had to tun 2 cycles. So much for saving water😡😠😡

I purchased this washer dryer set pissed off. This is absolutely the WORST washer dryer ever. I can honestly say if I could I would blow them up. Cloths do not get clean even after 2 complete washes. Machine doesnt spin clothes dry. I have to put them in the dryer wet and takes 70 minutes to dry I feel like I am putting on dirtu cloths and they stink. Had GE service out twice what a fkn joke. Of course they said nothing wrong with them. These are a total piece of shit. DON'T I REPEAT DONT buy these garbage. I wish I had my Kenmore back. The deep fill is a total joke.

I have this machine but it has an additional basket apart from the main basket for small clothings. I would really like to know how that park works

Mr JD please we don’t need to know anything about what we already know which is precisely what you did seems like you just wanted to make a video however, if you’re not explaining how to manipulate the machine you’re wasting precious time because like me and my wife we purchased this machine and it’s going straight back we’re keeping the dryer but, whoever got the patience for this nightmare of a washing machine may the ethers of the universe continue to have favor for you this model is trash and out of this new home 🏠 it goes ‼️❗️3rd 👁️ hate this product model (WTW4816FW3) they can just have a big trash dumpster at the tail end of the assembly line man 👨 ‼️❗️Facts a waste of engineering no wonder everything coming out of other manufacturers because America make stuff unreliable all day ‼️❗️💯🌎💯💯

Howto set up for full water

I just purchased this machine. I am having trouble with the water level. No matter the water level I choose, and no matter how large the load, it will only put appro, 8" of water in my tub. Any suggestions?

Had mine one year,no problem. Chose this over all brands, the maytag I had lasted 2.5 years terrible. Walked all the time the maytag.

I hate this machine. Spins so hard, even on delicate cycle, everything comes out a wrinkled mess. No way you can hang dry anything without excessive wrinkles. The items you put in a dryer also comes out a wrinkled mess. Fabric softner can only be added if you come back and add it to the rinse cycle. The only positive thing I can say about this machine is that the agitator can be removed for large items.

Great review. I have an older version of this machine and am replacing. Looking for a larger tub capacity for that king sized comforter. Does this model come in a larger tub size?

The dimples in the stainless steel basket make add a small amount of surface area to the basket but what those dimples also do is to add rigidity to the basket much the same way sheet metal duct work has shallow bends normally in the shape of an X to keep them from flexing which reduces noise as the ductwork changes temperature. An easy at home way to demonstrate this is by taking a sheet of paper about 5”x7” and hold it by two corners and you will see that it wants to flop over. Now take the same piece of paper and fold a crease diagonally from corner to corner along both long axises and hold the paper against the same way as before and you will notice the paper will remain rigid as long as the creases in the paper are not totally flattened back out. Had the basket not had the dimples press into the stainless sheet metal the would have had to use sheet metal at least half again as thick to maintain the same rigidity.

Horrible washer. I had to wash clothes 3x to figure the water level. Wastes more water than government regulations. Prise wash doesnt fill right.

Hello I bought one today. The one where the lid is not see through. I just followed the direction and it seems to work smoothy. One thing i noticed is it moves so much 😅

Thank you. Found what I was looking for 6:20 The whole drum moves and shifts. It's unstable and I was wondering if that was normal. And also the grinding noise is ridiculous, but I see that's normal too.

I have this machine and HATE it! Cycles take too long, not enough water to wash unless you set to deep water, in washer faucet only runs cold, can't add water before soap - if you run the faucet to dilute laundry detergent, it will drain out before your cycle begins. It's also very rough on clothes - they get stretched out or torn from the excessive spin speed. And don't even get me started on the obnoxious lid lock. Never had one before and don't need it now. This thing wastes more time and water than the 30-year-old analog model it replaced. HATE IT!!!

Got this washer a week ago. Noise level is fine, my old Kenmore was loud compared to this GE. Time length on washing cycle depends on what you set it on. Ran max water Hot towel setting with deep rinse (fabric softener setting) and took 1hour to wash. Ran max water hot setting with heavy cycle and extra spin, took 1 hour and 10 minutes. Ran high water cold normal cycle alone and it took 45 minutes. Over all I am satisfied with this washer, hopefully nothing changes. I did get mine from Home Depot with extended warranty, just in case.

Omg. After reading these reviews. I cant even return mines like some of yall on here wow. The noise is crazy and i tried 2 loads and each time they was finished the cloths like soaking wet. I tried to add extra spin but it took longer and seem like it did more than just that so id rather leave the extra spin but dang. Both times cloths like soaking wet when done i hope im not the only one. This hurts me.
