My wife is from Laguna Niguel, and we go down once a year or so. I wasn't aware of anything not on Trailforks, but I spotted this trail from across the canyon from Laguna Ridge and swore I had to get back down there and ride it someday. Still waiting for my chance tho...

Somehow you made that look easy!

I wonder if the phone needs an antenna signal in order to work? These off-road-like trails (as shown in the video) usually don't

Nice video but that's not the steepest trail in Laguna.

Hey Richie, was playing an old game called downhill domination from 2003 that you were in. Was playing it and surprised to see your still active staying on the bike 🤘. That's cool as hell glad to see it!

Love that aerial view. I always wanted to try that but wince at carrying around a "heavy" drone around my rides lol.

I’m also vertically challenged Richie and I’m looking at the same bike how tall are you? I am 5’4” with no shoes. The guys at Fezzari keep telling me I need a medium, but I normally ride a small.

@@richieschley-schleyer3654 the shot of the huge double roller is epic! Thanks for the great content for us SoCal locals that aren't ready to tackle this level of gnar!

The very last chute is a MF'er, it's steep, loose, & kinda off camber!!!!!!!!!!

1:04 - 1:10 is total insanity! I can feel the tendons in my fingers straining and swelling up as I imagine myself squeezing the brake levers. Your explanation of a calmer/zen approach required for riding this type of trail makes perfect sense. Not sure if I'll ever be ready for something like this, but it's cool to see you guys riding it so smoothly.

I’ve been riding for about 6 months and just landed the flying saucer rock on Mongo (the one after the double drop). I made it but it was ugly. I used speed more than technique since the end of the rock is not a shear drop off, but has a rounded bullnose to it which guides your front tire downward into about a 5-6’ drop. It looked like you didn’t have that much speed, but made it easily. Do you preload your fork and kind of do a bunny hop motion? I tried to push my handlebars forward to try and level out my wheels if that makes any sense. I’m not sure the proper technique, but you made a lot of those difficult features look pretty easy. Also there’s a nice jump line at the top near mongo if you go back.

Great review. What size bike do you have? It looks huge. I'd like to hear your thoughts about sizing up/down for different terrain. Every time I choose a big frame I wonder if I'd prefer a smaller frame and vice versa.
