In his 1789 sermon “The Causes of the Inefficacy of Christianity” he starts with a question: Why has Christianity done so little good in the world. In other words, why is there so much wickedness still abroad.

Stunning, and beautifully performed. Thank each of you, including our pianist and sound'/video techs. "Hold On To Me" by Lauren Daigle, Track 5 on "The Ballads" When the best of me is barely breathin' When I'm not somebody I believe in Hold on to me When I miss the light the night has stolen When I'm slammin' all the doors You've opened Hold on to me (Hey) Hold on to me Hold on to me when it's too dark to see You When I am sure I have reached the end Hold on to me when I forget I need You When I let go, hold me again When I don't feel like I'm worth defending When I'm tired of all my pretending Hold on to me When I start to break in desperation Underneath the weight of expectation Hold on to me Hold on to me Hold on to me when it's too dark to see You (I'll hold on) When I am sure I have reached the end Hold on to me when I forget I need You (I'll hold on) When I let go, hold me again

Interesting powerful sermon. Rev. Lee's words brought what has become in our secular world nothing but a location in the Bible, the common name recognized by so many who have forgotten most of the verses or lost the feeling of power they convey. Even aware of the verses, so routine in reference, their allusions and profound reminders, get diminished if not entirely lost in the hustle bustle have get rat race in which we exist. Psalm 23 is a promise of redemption and a respite from the burdens we carry day by day, and promise of the greatest gift that awaits each disciple beyond that last breath.

Warren, my Father in Law a life long Methodist many years ago paid you the best compliment. He said after an altar call at Mt Pisgah “that man is not your normal Methodist Preacher.” I did have to smile as I agreed with him. Still going strong, PreachThe Word!
