This is pure gold, one of my favorites. Never heard a quality live version like this! Page just has an unlimited arsenal of creativity, emotion, and so much more. Love how you can hear JPJ playing that 3 neck monster during the solos with some beautiful backing chords, so locked in with Bonzo. They may have had some rough nights on the 77 tour, this clearly was not one of those. Thank you for sharing this gem.

IMO the version which is most "perfect" and closest to the album is 7-24-79. Then again that whole show is technical perfection, which resulted in it also being a tad sterile. My favorite version of this song combining technical ability and rawness is 4-28-77. This one is top 10 though.

For me hearing a Zep song live the year it came out is best. It's when it's fresh and closest to the studio version

You can definitely hear this in the version Page did with the Black Crowes. Obviously he had other guitars to fill in the parts he overdubbed, but this is excellent by itself.

Great version but……. Two days later it’s even better I think. Badge Holders Only bootleg. But the LA shows were probably the best of the tour. They seem to really play better in LA for whatever reason

Listen to this on reel to real tape quadraphonic with 4 speakers, 1 in each corner, in a completely empty room (no furniture) after dropping a hit of acid. Works very well with 'Whole Lotta love' too. ☮️

Page was a heroin addict at this time. It shows in his solos. This is ok, but its still a long way from his peak, 1973.

These performances of "Night Flight" I believe are a reflection of Plant feeling challenged by Page's non-verbal response to Plant suggesting they perform it at the 1997 Rock and Roll Hall of Fame induction.
