I reached out to some Chinese OEM's a couple years ago and most will make you a few prototypes for about $1k. I ended up putting the cash towards more equipment and doing it myself, but if you don't have the space/skill or even desire to do it yourself, that's a pretty small price to pay to see your design come to life.

My subvert sprint run is one of my most functional knives I own. For a big thick knife it can cut a ton of cardboard with ease and with no hot spots. It also can cut through thick rope with a single swipe like scissors through paper, crazy awesome knife!!

Good clip looks like a fine driver. To loosen screws that are held in with red loctite i like to preheat them with a soldering iron then they usually come out with no fuss. Here is a idea that will make the bits stay in kzbin.info/www/bejne/inyrmIiDr6h7kKc

S30v might be the first knife steel Crucible designed for the knife industry, but it isn't the first one designed for the knife industry in general. Just off the top of my head, 12c27 and 440series steels predate s30v by oh...50+ years.
@TheBigCanucker
@TheBigCanucker 18 күн бұрын
@@jkirschy I Think there’s a little bit of truth in all of the statements 12c27 was a steel developed in the 80 for Knives, but also razor blades and ball bearings and so many other industrial uses, the 440 series was developed as a stainless steel for the cutlery industry a 100 years ago and more of a marketing tool for stainless cutlery, but again other uses like the airplane engine valve sleeves. CPM-S30V was developed for the cutlery industry with the specific intent of using it for knives, so much so that Chris Reeves and a bunch of other knife makers had a hand in it’s development with Chris Reeves’s being integral in developing it’s slightly tougher cousin S35VN. Thanks for reminding me about the older steels though.

Why do some have such a passionate opinion about “tip-down” carry? It’s my preferred carry with the PM2 and Para3. Drawing it from the pocket, indexing the spine and deploying it with a wrist flip while pinching the blade-hole is the handiest for most utility applications imo. ymmv

@@johncook9983 When I first started carrying pocket knives I didn’t really care, after a bit I watched a video about the debate of tip up tip down, I can’t remember whose video it was, but it got me to thinking and from that day on it’s been an OCD thing for me. I also love lanyards on knives and I just had a Microtech Socom with a lanyard hole and tip down carry and it lasted a week before I sold it. I just can’t get over it now it’s been so long I’ve carried it up I can’t carry tip down it feels too weird, so to make a long story short it’s the lanyard thing, an a OCD thing and a it feels weird thing…lol.
