On the topic of shielding, I prefer aluminium foil (copper changes the tone, IMO). Whichever you use, it's important to cover the whole pickguard, because strumming over bare areas with a pick can cause a kind of static-electric charge that comes through the speaker.

I got one as a Christmas gift in the surf green. Mine was problem free compared to yours on the electronics side. The intonation was way off and the fretboard was very dirty with residue. The frets were very good though, once cleaned up. The low E tuner is wonky. I'll probably replace the pickups at some point though, mainly to get a better balanced set.

What about the compound neck? Is it good?
@KWM1972
@KWM1972 Ай бұрын
As you get higher up the neck the fretboard flattens out more with a compound radius, bends don’t choke out the angle of your hand is different as you go up the neck too. so it feels faster with a flatter radius it easy more comfy and really just feels right ihmo

I made the best partscaster I've been using for 6 months (and changing it up) and it has been the best guitar I've owned. It has not been the cheapest, however, it plays the way I want and sounds the way I want. 1. I started with an Alder body HSH cut for Floyd Rose from guitar fetish. Neon Yellow. Color was not the focal point, I can paint it whatever I want to later, but it doesn't matter to me. $95.00 shipped with a coupon code. 2. Neck from China. $74.00 shipped. Solid maple unfinished. 3. Seymore Duncan 78's. Eddie Van Halen-esque sound. I used .047uf 400v capacitor on the tone and a treble bleed. $220 set 4. D'Addario locking tuners 6 in line black. Don't need em with the double locking system, but I wanted the black color. I've changed these around, and always stick with them. $65.00 5. Floyd Rose system from a Squier Contemporary (I replaced it on the Squeir with a EVH that I salvaged) that works much better than the EVH system. I'm not paying $200-300 for a real Floyd when I do not need it. 6. EVH Fender 500k pots. $24 7. 5 way switch from Musiclily or Kaish....I forgot which and it doesn't matter really. $12.00 8. Fleor single coil middle pickup that just does nothing really. One day soon, I'll redo it again with a HH pickguard and re-wire it. $20.00 All of this ticks my boxes and costs way less than a Players Stratocaster....I play it every day so far for the past 6 months, just started laying down tracks for some new songs with it. I recommend more people staying away from giving these greedy companies money for overrated guitars. Gibson and Fender both make garbage these days.
