Hi. From my experience in MU, the best price and value for money reels and braid are at Fishing Guru, Rivière Noire. And for rods at Pro fishing tackle, Pereybere and Rose-Hill.

I don't know if the ones above have ultralight rods though. You can try Abu's Tackle shop. I think they have saltwater spinning ultralight 7ft rods.

@@MelvinNemo nice, I just returned from a week in Mauritius. Caught lizzard fish, trumpet fish, some sort of rock cod with spots and a fish that looks like a juvenile kingfish.

So cool man! 😁 You're lucky. I moved to France and I really miss fishing in MU. In local mauritian language the lizard fish is Bomli, trumpet fish is trompette, the cod is viel and the kingfish I don't really see which species you're talking about 😅

@@MelvinNemo I have no idea what the "kingfish" was to be honest. It grabbed my paddletail and started running...as I brought it in an identical fish(same size) was chasing it to shore. I walked to the left of Le victoria to a jetty and saw 1000's of small baitfish around the pier.

I then walked to a jetty to the right as well and met some local fisherman. The one caught a nice size fish on bread(Brownish/yellow with spots)

Salut. J'utilise des cuillères Halco de 5g et des stickbaits CID Shiverstick de 65mm 11g. Tu en trouvera à Maurice. Malheureusement j'ai déménagé en France il y a peu de temps. Je n'ai pas encore repris la pêche depuis. Si tu pêche en France et tu es partant pour une sortie fait moi signe 🙂

Je te conseille des petits leurres souples, genre keitech easy shiner ou grub de 2 pouces, sur tête plombée (avec hameçon mer épais) de 5g, animation en drop. Ou des leurres genre Duo Spearhead Ryuki 50s, 60s ou 70s.

Berkley whiplash 0.10mm 14.8kg (Yellow) in this video. You will find only the green one in MU. But I don't recommend it. Go for Yozuri Superbraid 30lbs with 20lbs Yozuri fluorocarbon leader, its cheaper and lasts longer 😁
