When I was a kid in early 80s my mom’s boyfriend had one very similar, it had a 175cc 2 stroke motorcycle engine and manual 5 gears. I remember kick starting it. I was allowed to ride it but not allowed to shift out of first gear….

How did you fish out your tank? I’m looking for someone to do mine but don’t want to f up cause them tanks are expensive.
@piccadillypainting2826
@piccadillypainting2826 3 жыл бұрын
I dipped the tank in liquid to make a perfectly level plane where I wanted to cut, This makes it so when you flip it and the other side is cut precisely the same it should fit the hole. To make the other side match I completely covered the cut section with masking tape, then peeled the tape off and popped it inside out to use as a stencil for the opposite side.. good luck!

@@piccadillypainting2826 ok do you didn’t hammer pound it you did a cutout and replicate that on other side, flip it and weld it back into the tank. Nice. Sadly I’m in Stockton, CA. If I can ship it to you how much would you charge to do that for me? Realistically?

@@piccadillypainting2826 nice! $300 I could do. Is that price including shipping it back or I have to cover the shipping back? Haha. I should be free to ship out in few weeks? I have the same bike, a 2005 Yamaha v-star 1100 Classic. Though I want the dish cut to be a bit shorter then yours. If you can find one locally and fish it for me for cheaper I’d do that too! Anyways is there a better way to reach you? Like Facebook or email? Messaging here is a bit slow.

I layered up five or so different colors of spray paint and rubbed it with lacquer thinner Just enough to show color where I wanted it and speckled it by fogging it from a distance with the brown paint, then sand, then speckle, then clear.

I'm Restoring a Dunnecycle and under the seat where you bolt down the seat on angle bar right side there are serial numbers , on mine it's 001565 something like that. Has anybody else made this Discovery on there trikes. It's possible that number is the sequence of trike that got pushed out has they made them. Question is who has the number 001. Check your number , remove seat and make the discovery. 👍

I purchased the caliper/pads on eBay, pretty cheap. Definitely not a sufficient amount of stopping power.
