Actually, it's not. The plane is called F-45 ingame, although it's clearly based off the real F-35.

How do I mark my radar as my SOI so I can use AIM-120’s? Edit: I’m on quest controllers
@Zonalyre Жыл бұрын
You do that on the TSD: you move the cursor with your thumbstick over the enemy, click thumbstick and there you go. Note that you don't necessarily need to have your radar on to lock on to targets with the F-45, as it can acquire targets through datalink or even the RWR alone if your target is sending out radar signals.

V.C.A.P. Vertical Control Automatic Pilot Essentially a stabilized, VTOL-specific automatic flight control. Counter-intuitive control scheme. And of course, the T.S.D. Tactical Situation Display For Lamens-gamens: Video Game Compass Map. With the idea being to get everything you need to know about everything around you, all rolled into one screen so you're not flipping through all the MFD pages all day. The F-45 is just the F-35b with the wings rearranged and a name change so it's not in violation of brand with a company that happens to have VERY deep pockets.
@starman43462 жыл бұрын
I like how it’s marketed as a stealth fighter but has a big ass canard on the front. Nice.
@atigerclaw2 жыл бұрын
@@starman4346 Canards do not somehow 'switch off' stealth. Not any more than tail planes do. Stealth is not a binary principle, but term for a significant gradient or degree of RCS reduction. Most of that reduction is in designing for angles and removing as many leading edges and protrusions as possible. Such as external hard points and long flat seams, or direct visibility of engine intake fan blades. That's why the biggest RCS reduction factor in the aircraft is the internal weapons bays and recessed, S-shaped inlets. Getting all those surface angles hidden inside the aircraft dramatically reduces RCS. After that, further RCS reduction is done with things like RAM coatings. About the only thing canards do is put some leading edges in front of your bigger leading edges... But you kinda' have to have leading edges SOMEWHERE on your plane, or you don't actually HAVE a plane. Seeing as... leading edges kinda, imply things that come behind them, and having no leading edges means nothing is behind them which renders your 3-dimensional object down to a point source and I'm pretty sure that we don't make aircraft out of singularities, thought that would certainly make them have an RCS of zero. (Note to self: Research making aircraft out of hyper-dense spacetime anomalies. Further note to self: Aircraft may not fly while having a density exceeding that of the core of the SUN. Also research anti-gravity repulsorlift technology.) Moving the tail planes to a canard position only really exposes the leading edge of the control surface to anything directly ahead of the aircraft. Radar beams from the sides, above, or below, would still strike the control surface whether it was in front or not. And actuating the canards to perform maneuvers is less important to the RCS of the plane than literally the entire aircraft's silhouette changing aspect in relation to the radar beam. The largest possible RCS that the aircraft could actualy have would be presenting your belly to the radar, with your weapon bay doors open. Not only are you presenting the largest possible flat surface fully perpendicular to the radar so as not to scatter the beam, but with the bay doors open, you expose lots of greebles from the the interior to give a larger return, as well as a lot of internal bay surface that doesn't have any RAM coatings applied. Basically the fighter equivalent to spinning around and sticking your ass out while dropping your trousers in front of a crowd. Mind, this crowd is armed with large spears, is rather irritated with your existence, and would love nothing more than to shove said spears right up your tantalizingly exposed nether parts. Don't do that.
