The adjustments in life are hard. Watch a child growing up and always there are stages of challenge and unhappiness as the child has to adjust to changes in their body or changes in their circumstances or responsibilities. I really struggled through puberty, I didn’t like the changes. Becoming a mum was so difficult even though I wanted to be a mum. It’s overwhelming. Then other challenges, husband leaving, parent leaving, parent, husband, sibling or child dying. Many changes in life we don’t choose and we don’t want. You can say that a woman chooses to become pregnant but obviously that’s not always true. Look at the social pressure to be a good girl and fit in with societal norms. Being a mum is a huge sacrifice. I love it but I have had times of great sadness about the cost of the forgone alternative. I would have had time to be an artist, travel and explore and learn. Instead my life is about caring and loving and looking after family. That is still a choice I make every day even though I am aware that family and society expect it of me. It’s still my choice not to walk away. These women have chosen their own path and that is their choice, no different to a man choosing to walk away. I am happily married but I am still sad my first husband left, not because of my life, but the sadness and loss it brought my children. Now in their 30’s they are still struggling with him leaving them as children. We are always having to adjust often to circumstances we don’t want to be happening. Life always contains struggle, that’s how we grow. It was not designed to be easy.

Who can better decide what is true? You, or someone else with an agenda that will decide that for you? I say screw everyone else I will decide for myself.. If you think your ideas are better, then it's up to you to convince others and not censor them because you disagree with them.

I feel i have watched 4 times the same short documentary. Every part of this hour had the same set-up: fear-exposure-take a Propranolol-second exposure-the fear has subsided. I have no reason to doubt the sincere intent of the therapy, but it feels like an advertisement for the clinic and moreover for Propranolol. As a longtime sufferer of an anxiety for germs and contamination which numbs my life, i was hoping to get some insight, but this documentary unfortunately provided none.

This documentary leaves a lot of her story out. There’s no mention of Idol at all, no discussion of her abusive record deal, or her return to busking. It’s the first 10 minutes of a 30 minute featurette.

AS a "light skinned black" person. The term of light-skinned black is a RACIST term created to support the racist One-Drop Rule. A non-racist should NOT support the racist 'One-Drop Rule' by using racist terms like that of "light-skinned black". So-called "light-skinned black" people are simply the Mixed-Race people who are of a 'Multi-Generational Multiracially Mixed' (MGM-Mixed) full ancestral lineage.
