Also, I hadn't questioned why the game was called Oxenfree until someone in chat asked who Oxenfree was. Here's what some research brings out! 'The word "Oxenfree" comes from the phrase "olly olly Oxenfree" used during a game of hide 'n' seek which translates to "all are set free." ' Usually, that phrase is used to signal to players that haven't been caught yet and are still in play that they can safely come out without losing if the seekers gave up, for example! Definitely thematically accurate to what happens in Oxenfree 1, I'd say! 😁

@@fireflyembers7378 I have to say I am enjoying it quite a bit but in a very different way to Amnesia Rebirth 😊 It is much more streamlined in narrative and scope, rather than a linear progression through a storyline, this almost feels like a roguelike in that you are making multiple runs where anything can happen between you leaving the safe room and either returning back with having achieved a small personal goal or acquired a game changing item or piece of information that brings you closer to your ultimate objective of escaping. This playthrough is not the best to work as a walkthrough as I tend to perish often and many have completed the game in half the time it's taken me to get a wrench 😅 But I hope this captures the experience of entering this world blindly and with no idea of what to expect other than the familiar mechanics of previous titles from Frictional Games. In short, I like the direction they are taking here from a gameplay perspective and look forward to seeing how and when I make it out of The Bunker. I sincerely hope you enjoy it whether you go in blind or tag a long after having experienced it yourself🙏😉

Thank you Firefly 🤗 I am indeed very into it and hope you don't mind English subtitles because I made a decision early on to go with the french audio and it vastly improved the immersion but may have robbed me of comedy gold 😅 Also I was not prepared for the synchronicity in the Norse themes that would evoke Hellblade!

The cistern is such a creepy area, but it was so funny to see you and the creature stuck in an impasse with you standing on rubble and the creature just splashing around in the water, unable to process how you got there! 😂 I thought that the way they handled deaths in this game was brilliant, and I'm excited to see you get further into the story! 😁

Love how *juicy* he sound effects are when you land a strike. I'm not much of a sound design nerd but it just sounds good. Also, when Senny was scratching at the rot on her arm, you can FEEL just by looking. That suck through the teeth was universal. Great commentary, btw!

I hope you enjoy your time with this! 😄 I've also heard people being more critical of A Machine For Pigs, but I played it following The Dark Descent to prepare for Rebirth and I enjoyed it! It is tonally different, but it stays true to the Amnesia formula and was thoroughly creepy and unsettling!
