what an excellent version of this fantastic but little known song.....You were feeling it....Sadly, I only discovered Jason Molina about a month ago and I'm a 63 professional musician/songwriter in the same vein....Dunno how he escaped my radar -- This song is especially moving to me -- the way he -- and you here as well - manage to create, sustain a vibe that flows and changes organically mood with three or four chords and lots of twists and intensity. And what a sad end -- but I'd rather celebrate how you are knocking this song out of the park - than talk about that. Jason would be proud. I hope you continue seeking out unusual and magical music that most people never take the time to understand. You're so lucky so know what you know-- good luck in life.

Hey Jay, please know your comment brought me a lot of joy from a real down place. I really appreciate and respect where you're coming from, from a life of music it sounds like - I guess some of us burn so bright and fast. Jason left a huge mark on all of us and continues to do so with new listeners by the day. Music has the power to do that, as you know. shortly after recording this I quit my job to move to shanghai and pursue music full time. That was 4 years ago now, and now I'm off to Hong Kong to do the same, and maybe back to the usa after that since I know more than 3 chords now, haha,. But its encouragement that's kept me going all the way. So thank you so much

@@gargoylegirlfriend5418 thanks for reply- music has wonderful healing and spiritual powers -and I’m so pleased you are traveling the globe to learn more about how that works- the way u sang here, you’re already on a promising path- you Were FEELING it - so u got “the gift “ - not everyone has - just please remember- for me- the best and most moving music can not be found on the Top 10 of whatever is the new thing - but if u latched onto Jason has quick as I did- you are already off to a grand start- have you gone back to the masters - Neil Young Bob Dylan - Joni Mitchell- Gram Parson? check out gram and his beautiful but tragic story -and have you music ever heard of a band called Brian Jonestown Massacre? Weird name but great and varied music that comes straight from heart- it’s not for everybody- cause it’s just too honest and folks don’t like to “work” to appreciate great music- they want it handed to them as well. - but check them- I’ll include one of my fav slower more mellow songs in message- Finally, say hello and Hong Kong- I’ve been there countless times but not been there China cracked down- but it’s one of my favorite cities- Again- good luck - feel free to reach out if you ever have questions and comments about certain music - I’m a songwriter/musician who enjoyed moderate success when I was younger. You got the goods to go far- just be honest- be mindful!! And often simple sometimes “ 3 chords and the truth is all it takes to create a masterpiece- it’s all how you use it Cheers- 1. India in you BJM music.kzbin.info/www/bejne/b5bRY2d4p92nors&feature=share 2. OPEN heart surgery-bjm music.kzbin.info/www/bejne/n3KkaKqNgb-MjsU&feature=share 3. Star cleaner - BJM music.kzbin.info/www/bejne/bHScqXitibWpq8k&feature=share Finally and perhaps most important- Here’s the best Neil Young record that many of your artist like Jason were heavily influenced by- especially the second side - the last three song are very important to have least a working knowledge of them - since they this record influenced so many musicians to follow this lonesome but rewarding path- Any good musicians in the vein of Jason would have been absorbing this Neil Young record from 74 -“On the Beach - music.kzbin.info/aero/OLAK5uy_n1S9ljyNSBHJ-FKC5l44V500jlmEBtt-0&feature=share It’s quite varied-and it may be an squirted taste - but so is Jason to many folks- But it’s just really important to be aware of this record if you like Jason- type music- It’s a touch stone. In fact, since you’re studying music I’d suggest you become familiar with all of Neil Young up to 1979, when he released “Rust Never Sleeps.” After that, there’s not much new to discover, Imo- I found this record when I was 14 and it’s considered a classic for the type of music you’re exploring- especially the last song- “ambulance blues.” - it’s got shades of Jason’s style- only he was 1 year old when it was released. - lol Thank God for YT so we have these treasures at our fingertips- Hope i didn’t overwhelm you w songs- I’m a Life long leaner and teacher, so I guess it’s just my nature-lol- And keep Me posted on your progress- I’d love to Hear some of own songs if you’ve started writing them If not- get busy!! The only way to learn songwriting is just to plow into it and start writing songs- make it a daily habit to spend a few hours “working on songs…” keep at it diligently- just like u wud college- and you’ll Be surprised how fast your songs will improve- Good luck!. And if these songs don’t move you -that’s Ok - everyone is different - that’s what Makes music and the world so great and varied- I
