Yeah, ive noticed a MAJOR dip in FPS in this aircraft

thats the price we pay for the radar :) F18 Radar is magic and just kinda rolls dice in a way if it detects something,, heck it even updates between TWS sweeps :D F4 Radar acutally simulates the rays going out of the radar, getting reflected, coming back etc. Have you tried the low radar thingie in the spcial options yet?

I bet it's the CPU. Runs fine on my 5800X3D if it helps - no issues in flat screen, while in VR I get some hiccups but that's my GPU just not being enough for DCS VR without destroying my settings, which I don't want to do (RTX 3080)

@@Galf506 if you alt-tab it can chug a long really badly for a while, i switched to MT and works fine now

@@TazziedoesWTKeep 21 AoA, it will never stall. You can manage the glide with the throttle. I was a little low in my video (I prefer to go low)

Hadn’t flown the 16 since the FM update, it did feel a little different, especially at low speeds.

@@longishlettuce yeah she is a bit of a pain, just gotta find that right aoa and speed. M2k is my favourite to land. Hand off the stick once you get it to speed and only use the throttle to land. Super simple, easy and relatively smooth.

0- Switch HUD mode to AA 1- Master Arm on 2- select PH/SP on the weapon selector (If you look at the joystick there is a red thing, slide that to the top) 3- depress the switch to select the weapon 4- toggle between Sparrow and Phoenix with that same button 5- Get a Radar lock 6- Hold weapon release button until it launches. EDIT- YOU MUST have Missile prep on. its the right most red switch on the dash under the hud. next to fire rate for the gun.

@@TazziedoesWT Slight tidbit addition: You do not require a full on lock. The Phoenix can be shot in TWS or "Track While Scan". If Jester calls out a target in front of you, you may see an inverted "T" shaped symbol in your hud. Your Phoenix missile can already use that to acquire a targeting solution, and your bandit will not get a Lock-On Indication on their RWR nor a launch warning. This is of course only true for as long as you keep your nose and radar on the target.
