I was curious to see what RVs lap time were compared to RC on the day. Couldn’t find the lap times, but did see RC qualified faster.

On The Whiskey Throttle show, RC said he was scared to death of losing. He was a short, fat Ginger kid in school, and they all got picked on. (Big Ginger kids did not have that problem.). I suspect the bullying stopped when TC started winning amateur championships. So!!??? Can it be true that school bullying actually inspired RC to be the GOAT of Motocross? What would the teachers of today say, if RC publicly admitted that? "School bullies motivated me to win more than anything else." It would be interesting. :)

Opps--- I suspect the bullying stopped when "RC" started winning amateur championships.

Ryan was a monster, and I am bummed I missed the rest of his career after this race. It was RC's last pro race also, who won his class, but not in his usual fashion. It was Tim Ferry who was the weak link (took James spot, injured I think), and he does not get enough credit for his "come from behind rides", that reviled the best "come from behind rides" in the history of the sport. True grit. That kid did a great job to help sew it all up. Maybe the best rides of his career? I can't remember if he won his class, but when he was back in the pack, I thought our azz was grass. He rode with the most amount of heart and skill he had, and it was great to see.

I was at this race, my last pro race attendance. Villapoto was amazing, wire to wire on his 250 over the world. But if we know history, (and we don't), it was the 1986 MXofN that was the most iconic USA victory "ever". "Ever" also is before you kids of no historical knowledge were born.

I was there in person...it was EPIC.. Villapoto was the fastest guy on the track that day by a large margin....

The MXdN in Italy with Johnson, Bailey, and Omara completely dominating was the most iconic. Maybe 07' is number #2.

No. I think the best USA MXDN was in 86. They had a PERFECT day. The ONLY perfect day in MXON/MXDN in history. They won every class, every race. It was under the old scoring system, but the still, the lowest they got all day was O’maras’ third place, in the last race, still first in his 125 division.

@EarthSurferUSAКүн бұрын
Policy wise,---he comes from communism. That is why Glen Helen told him to get bent, as the force of Coombs made 12 tracks basically the same. We need to form a competitive series based on our freedoms.
@georgelynch61392 күн бұрын
Nice reminiscing but the Merica is non competitive and irrelevant on the world stage since 2011, losing 12 in a row in Europe and going for the record with 13 in a row this year 🇺🇸🤣🤣🇺🇸
