Nice, it's good you're making analysis of Noir episodes even though I don't agree with some of if it. The man that died from the bomb at the start of the episode is not a detective, he is a member of the GIGN as said by Legrand's superior. I don't view this anime in terms of villains and heroes but then again I try not to frame life and people that way. What struck me when I watched this all these years ago was the grey morality of Noir, it felt very mature and the oppressive mood is not for some but it was relevant to me and I'm often quite a serious person so I wasn't bothered by it. The pacing might be slow to modern audiences but I feel if people watched movies and TVs from the 1950s-1980s, Noir isn't that slow.

@@Noirlax thank you for your insights. Sometimes it’s hard watching television show because there’s a lot of information that’s given so I might make some mistakes, but I’ll work very hard to check for typos. I also mentioned that it’s very very hard to do these reviews because I have to watch the show and it would take me at least three hours because I’m writing about 15 pages with notes, and then I put it in my voice to text so I have artificial intelligence enhance the writing , because I just spoke to it with a camera I’m very worried that I’ll make mistakes or because I don’t have the best voice won’t draw that much of an audience. But the whole process can take up to nine or 10 hours. But I really appreciate you watching my videos and analyzing what I’m saying, and definitely if you want to do your own analysis of the show no problem. The other thing I want to say is that my goal is to do at least one or two episodes a week around my very busy schedule just because I was doing Elfien Lied and went on a hiatus so I don’t want to do that I totally agree with the things that you’re saying that Noir is definitely very slow paced and that’s very true with old television shows and that was actually one of the big criticisms of the series, I believe in Wikipedia they say like episode five is the worst one when you watch it put you to sleep. The thing about the anime is that when you break it down by watching the episode and taking close to 20 pages worth of notes it’s definitely very repetitive, for example, cowboy bebop takes you on a range of different emotions and that’s what’s in good writing , it’s nonstop Darkness, it becomes very monotone. Another great example is Naruto, there’s a huge side of it being family, friendly, there’s a huge side of it being anti-war and there’s a huge side of it with very adult themes like very evil characters, such as Orochimaru where it’s amazing how knowing his abilities, the show is allowed to be on American television, or kids would watch it, or there wasn’t somebody talking to the creators, censoring his character because the whole necromancy thing is definitely not appropriate for kids, but all those different emotions from Naruto, it makes it watchableversus noir where it does feel very monotone

@@Noirlax I also like what you said that Yes noir, the show is really about a lesser of two evils, like the main characters are not the good guys and everybody else is the bad guys, they’re all villains, but the show makes the two main assassins, sympathetic villains. I also felt the same way with Noir where I really enjoyed it because it was serious and not every story needs to have levity. The other thing that I really resonated with Kirika and that could be a video, just because I was going through a lot of depression and a lot of pain at that time but as of learners, I’ve gotten older if we connect with very mentally disturbed characters like her, it’s a sign that we need to window shop for a therapist. I dealt with depression, emotional abuse, being adopted Out situation where I didn’t get to know my biological family, I was very booksmart, but a lot of people thought that I was mentally challenged because I wasn’t socially smart, and when I was in high school, I really didn’t enjoy my father, having his own theories and talking to my teachers about what my mental health issues may be because it made me feel like a specimen or a lab rat, and I’ve had overcome a lot of emotional abuse, violent bullying, seeing a bunch of animal abuse, and PTSD and living with parents that were very narcissistic And didn’t look at their behavior, so Kirika has some of these similarities such as a lack of self-worth, depression, trying to find her place in the world, understanding that she’s not in control of her life and not knowing her origin and hurting on the inside, so she’s definitely a very dimensional character that resonates with people who have gone through some hardship. And I’m happy to share with you that I’m really emotionally healthy right now despite overcoming such a very emotionally abusive and toxic past

@@LifeUnchained1987 Firstly thank you for putting the long hours in putting the effort in and taking notes. Only the GIGN thing is a correction to note, the rest is just my opinion. So here's just more of my opinions: Noir is quite slow paced for today and more so for US/Western audiences. But from what I gather Noir was very popular and well received in Japan back in 2001 when it was first released. I prefer older movies and shows personally in terms of pacing and cinema. Modern TV and movies often are too direct and too much going on. This leads into what you're saying about Naruto, Cowboy Bebop and taking notes Noir, I will say Noir is certainly not monotone, it's just not expressive. Noir is quiet, nuanced, repressed, private and externally muted and it's not for everybody. Just about every Noir fan I know falls under the intuitive and introvert on the Myer Briggs scale. But that's not the point, I believe many people see Noir as unemotional and cold and in a way it is. But if you scratch beneath the surface like in real life, like that quiet kid in the corner at school might seem emotionless and boring but inside they might be the most emotionally intense and have a rich, interesting and varied inner life. That's what Mireille and especially Kirika is like. Those little smiles, little interactions like in the beach or the ice cream, petting the cat, those small little looks, suggestions of jealousy and flashbacks to their inner trauma and self-reflections are rich and varied. Yes a lot of is depression, there is a lot of pain, death and cold-bloodedness but that's what makes those little smiles, those little nods to the head and small acts of kindness in this anime amplify as if the light in life is to be treasured as they are few and far between. It's also a style of communication that probably doesn't translate or relate as well to American anime audiences maybe because this is a style that is more in-tune with an earlier era of film-making or a high-context culture. So yes Noir isn't as 'watchable' as the mainstream shows which give a different sort of pleasure/enjoyment. In my opinion it demands more attention and more investment by the viewer to patiently live through and experience the protagonist's feelings and stream of consciousness more intimately and personally and read more subtle visual cues to get more out of this anime. But it is indeed worth it with a deepness of thought and feeling very few anime/tv/movies can ever match in my opinion.

@@Noirlax thanks for all your insight. And I’m happy to continue to review the series and get all the episodes. I do want to say that episode 26 to me. It’s always gonna be very painful because the last episode of the show it’s probably the only things that can get me on the verge of crying in my life. So that’s gonna be painful when I have to do it and then the other thing is that it reminds me of the episode of South Park where Chef dies a lot of people don’t watch that episode because it’s very very painful especially in the 80s and who is and what character meant. Definitely seeing the ending of the emotional journey of Kirika definitely gets me in my feelings. The other thing is that I’m very happy that I’m reviewing the series episode by episode because I love this show and I definitely want this to stand the test of time so anything that I can do to help it out. The other issue is that there are gonna be KZbinrs analyzing the series and that’s very rare, but they may do better job than me or definitely. They’ll get more viewership but at least I’m happy with what I’m doing. This makes me happy to do it. I’m gonna try to do it chronologically, but are there any episodes that you would like me to review first?
@LifeUnchained19873 күн бұрын
There’s also one thing I have to talk to you about my production. So when I first had song AI, it was making these groundbreaking and emotional songs that worked very well. Unfortunately, it’s gone to shit. Right now, it will probably do 85% of the songs and then cut off. It will have things that won’t really match like one version of this song was just somebody whispering, and you couldn’t really understand the language that they’re speaking. I like that I’m adding songs to this because it makes the review more unique, but it also gives you a sense of tone, just like Apocalypse now opening the doors, it really sets the emotion, a depressing, but also psychedelic psychological drama, and with a lot of my songs for noir, I just want to establish The mood of the show which is definitely with characters battling with their own humanity And I also really appreciate what you said that if you look at Noir, scene by scene there are definitely some chocolate chips in the cookie of levity. For example, Kirika taking care of the kitten and Marielle not being happy with it at first that had some comedy, but I also shows that there’s some compassion and humanity among the characters, And they don’t have to go full family guy like have Marielle get mad the kitten took a shit and her favorite shoes or something that would ham up the seriousness; for example in Rurouni Kenshin I definitely want to review the Makoto Shishio arc but one of the criticisms is that it can go from the characters having a serious conversation and then they have a lot of ham it up banter where Noir does have levity but the appropriate amount so it’s not turning into Family Guy at certain point of the show

this video made me realize the connection between their russian background and russian roulette
@LifeUnchained198725 күн бұрын
@@zacnewford I think it’s a couple of things that they were probably made Russian because that was considered controversial at the time because of the Cold War and communism. But it also is a way of making them feel like their contributions are less significant they’re Russian Americans, for example, there are many Japanese, German and African Americans that served in World War II but because of racism, nationalism, discrimination, and ethnic discrimination that those soldiers from those backgrounds were not as significant or their contribution were not seen as significant. I think the points the Deer Hunter is to really highlight that these people sacrifice so much, their bodies, their psychology, their lives and their family lives, who are suffering from death and taking care of people coming back from Vietnam, who are injured, and to add on top of that these guys are Russian Americans to make it clear that their big sacrifices are not seen as significant because of discrimination against Russians during that time and history because of the Cold War. There are a lot of soldiers and people who have served military history have contribute greatly but they were seeing as less significant because of their background and that they have PTSD, suffer suicide or suffer like this movie, it makes it way more sad that they seen as way less significant. That’s why I think they have the Russian thing in. I think the Russian roulette comes down to two things, it is a metaphor of war is that it’s gambling with human life, so people can profit off of it. It’s also a symbol of apathy, Christopher Walken kill himself. Nobody cares about his well-being, except for his friend, they just move onto the next people play the game, the same way Politicians and people create wars they don’t care about how many people have died unless it’s a personal friend or relative, they care more about counting their wings and losses. The other part of it is that violence in movies was very tamed until the Hayes Code was removed in the late 60s, so obviously when you have a movie like this advertise the violence, it’s gonna drown audience because it’s almost like saying we’re gonna show you some thing that you can’t see on television or you can’t see in the movie theaters but now you can see it. so it’s meant to be appealing because violence is appealing, that’s the reason why kill Bill and other films like that have a lot of people watching it. I hope this further explains my points

What I do is that I do voice to text, and then I have ChatGPT edit what I say and then what happens is that after that I use NaturalReader to come up with a good voice I’ve done speaking on camera for over 10 years, but I have a terrible voice like I sound wimpy and I have something called autism eyes where it’s like my eyeballs cannot look at the camera and it actually genetic because my biological father has that. So I realize that I can give you guys way better reviews if I do this process instead of speaking on camera and then I go off on a lot of tangents when I speak so I’m trying to just do my analysis in a way that will be more effective.

Pretty good review, thought the song at the start was a nice touch. I noticed the narration voice is a bit different. There's no conclusive proof whether the modern setting was in Russia or not and I think Mireille was fine to just let Nazarov pass away to illness. Thought going through the episode in detail on the key moments was great, generally agree with the themes this anime episode presents. They don't seem to do anime that questions things like this these days.

I think that I gave that reading because I felt that there was a lot of plot holes and logic holes with the storytelling. There’s also many matches where if you had a loser and a winner, it still hurt both people. The next thing is that the ending really deflated the audience and it didn’t feel like a climactic sendoff to Brian Danielson However, it is setting up a bunch of storylines between good guys and bad guys. Private party and a few other groups are really working hard to rise to the occasion. I’m excited for the future, but they have to work on their storytelling. But if people leave the show pissed off that’s not the response that you want. Another thing is that you know Jeff Jarrett is part of the writing team because definitely there was a lot of shine on him at the end of the night
