Why don’t the actors speak with an English accent?

Absolutely love short stories. This narrator is very good 😊. I don't mind the music so much but it's the DING! DING! at the end of every story. I was woken with a start! Do not use this series to go to sleep with. Unnecessary indeed ‼️😮

I don’t know if it’s the reader but Miss Marple sounds like a snarky Beyotch in this one. Is everyone trying to be like gay puppet Maggie Smith now.

Love Agatha Christie stories. The background music is fine. Bearly noticed it ❤

this channel is really good and i enjoy the stories very much but they would be so much more enjoyable without the weird background noise, it distracts to the point of giving up listening and does not seem to add anything - in fact it often clashes with the atmosphere of the story.

This story though fictional raises an interesting question. If a lawyer witnessed a will being made as per his clients stated intentions but the will disappeared what would be the legal position? Would the clients previous will (if there was one) be enforced, or would the lawyers testimony about the new wills intentions be enough to make it still valid? I suspect not, as the law would doubtless require written proof, but still, it's an intetesting point. 🤔

Get rid of the background noise, it sounds like something out of a sci-fi and completely inappropriate for a mystery.

I keep seeing complaints about background noise or music. I am not hearing anything aside from opening music but great narrating. I love these and am hoping more will be added. Thank you so much for these😊

People please I preach to you out of love belive on the lord Jesus Christ and trust in him for you salvation and not in yourself Christ came to die for our sin we have all sinned and deserve hell but God is so merciful and Jesus died on the cross to take our punishment so that who ever belive on him will not perish but have eternal life john 3:16 romans 10:9 if we confess with our mouth Jesus is lord and belive in our heart that god rose him from the dead we will be saved we can not earn salvation it is the free gift from God❤❤

Excellent reading! The characters were all separate persons. And she especially read the actress, Jane, making her somewhat empty headed. Although at the end one is not so sure. . . 🎭🌷🌱

I hear the ominous music (more like a drone) in the background as someone pointed out, but it isn’t detracting to me. Stevenson does a good job. Really enjoy this short story.

Juliet Stevenson is a very talented actress. I love her readings - and Miss Marple is played as a very intelligent, but sweet lady who doesn’t stand for any bunk! This the way she’s written to me, not the TV actress played her. She is a vert good actress, I just don’t agree on the interpretation. :) 🌷🌱

So goodbye my dear miss marple and to you hercule Thankyou for all the good times we had😢😢😢😢😢

the dramatization is amazing, but the useless, silly background music is spoiling the pleasure of listening 🤦

Loved this short story. I listen with headphones, but I can concentrate on Juliet Stevenson's voice and mostly ignore the music. I must say that the music accompanying this story is a lot better than in some of the earlier productions, both in content and volume, so I imagine that listeners' comments have been noted!

Pity to ruin the beautiful voice of Royal Shakespearean actress Juliet Stevenson by any music, let alone the plinkety plonk piano here!

I’m fairly certain that the person who downloaded these added the music + “light show “ background” to avoid copyright strikes. I have seen this done with several other YT’ers, when downloading others’ work

About the noise, if you listen to it on very loud volume you hear the background noise and yes annoying! But if you listen to it with the volume at a lower volume you can't even hear the noise or know it's there unless you already know it's there. 😊❤

Brilliantly narrated by one of my favorite actors, Juliet Stevens. Has anyone noticed the obvious similarities between this story and another one called Endless Night?
