I don't think people realized that Emily and Richard came from a different generation and background than Lorelai and Rory. They grew up knowing that if you got pregnant at a young age (15-16) then you get married and go into the family's business (whether you wanted to or not) to support your family and child. They had somewhat of a right idea with Christopher working for Richard because it was very clear early on that Lorelai didn't have a plan at all. She had no idea how to take care of baby Rory or how to make money to support her. And instead of taking the help offered to her she ran away from home like a child, because she was a child. She even had another woman caring for her and her own baby while she was living in Stars Hallow in the early years of Rory's life just proving that she had no idea what she was doing. Emily and Richard aren't perfect and they do have their flaws but can we please stop making them out to be the villains of this story when Lorelai made them that way. Lorelai chose to not allow them to help her at all but oh, as soon As SOON as Rory gets into Chilton and needs to have money for school and all that good stuff she goes crawling back with an ungrateful attitude mind you and asks them for money. Throughout the whole series Lorelai acted very rude and coldly to her parents (mostly her mother) when they were the ones supporting her. Now, I'm not saying that they were right because they had their moments but so did Lorelai.

Lorelai started this whole mess and she knows it. She knew what to talk about and what not to talk about. Christopher even asked her why she brought up Bush in the first place, when she brought up Bush you can clearly tell that she wanted to start something.

If someone you loved with all of your heart looked you dead in the eyes, & with total conviction, shouted at you, "You've killed my spirit!", would it not break your heart into a million pieces? & before the few constant contrarians insist they'd not be hurt, I'm referring to the majority of people. I’m gonna come out and say it, either Tristan or Jess should’ve been Rory’s endgame. Both of them were head over heels for her, they were far more supportive towards her than either Dean or Logan. (I hated those two o much!😡Never understood they hype around them.) Whilst Tristan and Jess tried to change for Rory and be better people, and they never meant to hurt her like the other two. I personally feel as though Tristan and Jess are the ones with the most growth. But the way Rory is later on, the both deserve better than her.
