The NPC sidequests in Elden Ring were mostly "find them, exhaust their dialogue, and do something." Yet, the storytelling made us 𝒇𝒆𝒆𝒍 the NPC talking to us, from the growth of Alexander to Latenna's grief and anger. Even bosses like Messmer express his inner feelings that despite most of us can't relate, we can at least feel the pain of being abandoned and lied to by his own mother. It is everything combined that made this game feel so alive, so...human, even for godly beings in this strange world. Elden Ring illustrated the concept of pain in a very sinister fashion, through the visuals, dialogues, sound effects, and even game mechanics, we 𝒇𝒆𝒆𝒍 the pain of the game's characters. They are just a 3D model with voice actors behind them, but I feel so much humanity in most characters. 10/10 game, it is something I want to experience the first time again.

The thing that makes Elden Ring so special for me is that the game is made to make you feel helpless in every aspect. The map is one of the biggest to have been ever produced in the gaming industry, especially for it's quality. Whether it's giant fire trolls, ancient lightning dragons or giant beasts harnessing death itself, the game's bosses always make you seem small and insignificant compared to their supposed years of fighting experience. The sheer amount of storylines and side quests in the game, along with the beautifully crafted endings make you feel like it's not just your story. Elden Ring was truly the first "difficult" game I have ever discovered, and the first thing I loved about the game when I started playing was that "Dying was Fun". No other game I have played has been able to make failing and getting back up as enjoyable as Elden Ring, and it only adds onto the immense satasfaction of killing a boss. I have no regrets for ever trying it, and I am glad that other people were able to have the same experience I did.

I’ve never been able to get emotionally attached to any of the souls games, there is only one game that got me upset and it was because it got me attached to the main character. In my opinion elden ring dosent do a good job of getting me attached to the charaters

This is such a wonderful tribute! I also really appreciate the fact that you used your own game play footage instead of just cutscenes. Also loved the second ending of the video. I was tearing up the whole time and then that made smile. Chaos!

I'm 64 and have been a gamer for more years than I care to remember! I'm also a big fan of the fantasy genre and Elden Ring was the perfect game from day one of playing it, loved it and I've played it through many times playing every class possible when the DLC came out I was super pumped, I hope they produce a 2nd DLC so I can play it before I die!

nice job capturing the spirit and gravity of this world. i try to picture it as real and with its real people. it's a harsh and violent and scary place. one where solitude and mortality are deeply felt. these people are just trying to somehow make there way through it all, not only to survive, but to be something beyond a mere survivor. when i think of that, their quotes hit so much harder. they want to matter and so they have to be brave... and honest. so then, their words mean everything.
