The FM music and sound effects on this version are worse than the PC-9801 version, the PC-9801 version has better sound effects than this one. One day I tried playing this game on the original MS-DOS and the sound effects were just made with DAC and not even FM, but the music was made with Adlib, and the introduction showed a woman being taken away by a wizard, and in the game I had 60 minutes to complete but actually never got to the end.

Fun fact: I'm bad at Doom Eternal. I'm only (somewhat) good at the platforming. But I still rarely die because I play on Hurt Me Plenty like a good little newbie Slayer. A single TYRANTin a corridor with me is getting clapped because I know my own difficulty limits.

I'm not fond of Doom Eternal. I feel I need to defend Doom Eternal from IGN. I can't reconcile that, they're that offensive. Not simply because how they don't do their jobs properly but because they think this is good enough for us.

I believe the reason most of us enjoyed the Doom Eternal expansions was getting to kick more ass. So another Cyberdemon or a hundred more would be nice. Those enemy booster spirits were also the cherry on top.

I came to Eternal very late but really enjoyed it, eventually stumbling my way through Nightmare. After countless hours I watched some reviews including Ryan's and could immediately tell from the footage that most reviewers were trash and didn't know what they were talking about. But the thing is, between the steady stream of releases and the pressure to publish reviews ASAP, reviewers typically don't have very long to git gud at these things. It's a flawed system sure, but we all need to get over ourselves.
