So, we had a family trip to the state capital, which was fun but obviously kept me away from the computer for a week. Then mother bought a new lawnmower and launched a crusade against the vegetation. Also, I had to focus on my coursework for college. Everything is good here, just busy.

@@RsFanficReadings I've been having a terrible time of things my car keeps breaking and on top of that I have major health concerns, my job has been awful lately and I've applied for a new one but I haven't heard anything back yet which is super frustrating, on top of that I can barely afford anything I need and im running out of tricks fast, so if you're hoping for a story update it'll have to wait till i don't have so much on my mind.

I intend on reading 'book one', which is the first 26 chapters or so. After that I'll decide whether or not I might do more later. And yeah, the chapters are a bit long, so I might not manage once a week for this one.

The editor has said that the next chapter is nearly ready but it's taking some time because the author has health issues.

The story just updated today for the first time in two years.

Thanks for the heads up. I'll put it on my current reading list. And I had been on chapter 30 something.

Yeah, I really prefer these long stories as a listener, so I make an effort to hit them up as a reader.

It will concern me about whether/when to make part 2, but I decided that this was a long enough story I'll treat it as multiple books. Book one is finished, so I'll make a reading of it. I don't promise to make a reading of the rest of it, but 200k words is a reasonable length.

I'd be thrilled, but I don’t know how to, nor has anyone extended me an offer for I story I felt comfortable doing. I am willing to learn, if anyone wants to invite me. I've even put in lines for Ponies With Pockets once. And I kind-of did that for bump, though it's a very different prospect when you're both using the same microphone.

A Katana is a Japanese equivalent of the longsword, used with a shield or two handed. A wakizashi was smaller, and more of a sidearm. It was the weapon of choice for committing seppuku(suicide).

@@RsFanficReadings also the katana can be straight where the Wakizashi is curved katana is ment to be used outside where the Wakizashi is for close quarters.

So Vinyl Scratch appears to be a robot/cyborg who works for the mysterious moon ponies. Did not see that coming. I love how Derpy hears the tree is dealt with and almost immediately goes back to work. Well, tries to anyway. A fine ending to the chapter, and I look forward to the next one.

@Max Stroberger (To the tune of jingle bells): It's beginning to look like a secret order, in the Everfree! I thought it was just the five, but they have Scratch as well. And they're recruiting Trixie as we speak! We speak! Okay, that's enough writing in song. I don't trust the midnight mares, but I do believe that their intentions are mostly good. Their methods are a tad hard to justify, but then again, we already know that an ancient artifact of evil is in play. Maybe the townlet in the Everfree was a base of operations for the secret order, rather than a thestral commune? Okay, she hasn't come up yet, but I still think that unicorn from Spike’s book will be important somehow. I wonder how much Trixie will be Trixie when she is fully prepared?
