I wish the previous owner of my S3 8P had the same morals as you, as I'm 20k in parts and upgrades on a car that's worth 7K over 3 years after the previous owner covered the warnings lights on the dash to get it through the MOT etc! PS is that ticking normal, as mine didn't do it then one day it randomly started doing it? I thought it might be the injectors or something as mine has the RS3 injectiors, and an upgraded high pressure pump, and cam follower, Or it might cam chain slightly overdue ( it's booked in next week to be done )

Dam... how can people be such arses... the ticking is the injectors and they are always noisy ,but if you get a slower louder one it could be the lifter, but the wife's A3 diesel had one that "ticked" for years and never caused a problem , I only changed it just before I sold it.

We were on D2 just before, never missed being anywhere quite as much as being on that cruise...the whole thing is just fabulous and the staff are the finest I've ever met...we're booking for next year soon

Why would you sit at a table with someone’s dirty plates left . 😮 The glass house just to hot to sit and eat in , and eating food with that strong smell of chlorine, Not for me . Best restaurant is Gallery 47 . Best bar is bar 11 . Live room needs about 200 more seats and tables .

Loved the time I visited Corsica. Came back with fond memories and a really not so fond memory to do with a trip on the crazy train. Weathers pretty perfect for this!

Enjoyed this..was on last year but did not like the glass house, too warm and lots of queues for food..the food in the main dining rooms are lovely although my hubby likes islands ...he agrees the main dining rooms were much better..food was lovely 😊 I was shouting at the TV for you to try it😅

LOL... we used to go there before and maybe should have done ....but we got put off on the last cruises where that seems to be a hour wait and a buzzer system which soon looses its charm , so we tend to stick to the buffet now.. However for the next cruise I think we it least have to stomach the wait to test the water 😆

I would also before you squirt adhesive pilot drill 2mm holes and put a stainless self tapping pan head screw every 100 mm around seal flange do this while its wet as the adhesive won't hold long ..

Is this an S3 8P1? I am putting mine in for Haldex and Diff oil change and asked for gearbox to be done too but I have been advised by my mechanic that the gearbox is "lifetime" and shouldn't need to be changed, so might be something I do myself when I get it back. Thanks

Most manufactures seem to clam "lifetime" now for gearbox oil....but 100k miles is a long time for nay oil and when i changed mine it was very cloudy with water ... so I would never , not change the oil on a car that's done over 50k with the same oil in it personally.

Sorry to bother you again. Just a quick question I used the exact oil you used Comma 75w GL4. Keep seeing around the web it should be 75w90, shifting feels smoother already just hope there will be no issues 😅. Did you go with the same exact Comma 75w oil for the rear diff in the end? Now thinking should I get the front diff and transfer box done too while I'm doing all the other oils lol. Thanks

@@chickendipper657 Like you I tried to use forums etc to find the best options and like all post related to oil grades they all said different things... In the end I chatted to a friend who rebuilds gearboxes for a living and he said this is what he uses on all VAG stuff (even new) ...so I went with it ... wasn't the cheapest but like you, when the oil was changed it felt a lot smoother .

As i recall , you just have to tun the ice maker on with the front buttons and be very patient...it feels like it does nothing for hours , then all of a sudden you get the clunk of the ice tray turning upside down... But it does take a few days to fill it up.

Hi Ade, thanks for the videos! I have the same issue with the wife's Tigra, though its just the passenger side that doesn't work. I have ordered an opcom with the latest software which comes on a mini CD - I trust it is just an executable program that can be copied to a USB Stick? my laptop doesn't have a darn CD lol

i managed to get the exe in the link description to sort mine out ... so would assume the cd will just have an exe too, but tricky if you don't have a CD drive :)

My Tigra has the same problem with the driver-side door. it is always roll the window all the way to the maximum level. So I can not close the door properly. Normally, there must be a gap before the door closes completely and the window will move up automatically. My question is: Where can I download the application to do the service for my Tigra. Can you send me a link, please? Can anyone here send me a link where to download the application to fix this electric door problem, please?

Hi Ade, just bought a 2004 1.8 Tigra. Swapped the speakers out, and changed the head unit. Speakers blown lol will be sorting tomorrow. Ted the Tigra is giving us a headache with engine warning lights, and engine management lights too. Lumpy running at idle and issues under load, throttle comes and goes. We believe it may be the cam shaft sensor. I have a new one to fit tomorrow. Can you advise where it lives? I've heard you can only get access from inside the car? I can't believe this. I thought it would live somewhere by the starter motor? Any help or advice would be amazing. Ted the Tigra is a star and I want to fix him :)

Hi... is the car throwing any codes up ?.. I believe the camshaft sensor is at the front of the engine , but i know i have had poor running and unresponsive throttle from the MAF ... might be worth cleaning the MAF with electrical spray and letting it dry then see if that helps.. the codes should lead you in the right direction though .

Thanks Ade, car has had a new MAF, new exhaust, coil pack and one way pressure valve. Code does come up but it's a generic P0170 electrical fault code. Only thing we think left to try is a good service, we're doing that today and the cam sensor replacement.

It could be, or my guess would be the floats are set wrong and not letting enough fuel in or the pipe from the fuel tank is kinked ... had the kinked pipe myself and caused me a lot of grief .

They did sort it out quickly, but "I Feel" the pay-out didn't really match the expectations to be honest... But at least we ar all back mobile again .
