Before using any new face mask, you should do a patch test to make sure your skin doesn't have any negative reactions to it. Only add a litle turmeric depending on how much of the other ingredients you are adding and leave it on for only about 10-15 minutes. You will get a light stain otherwise, even if it's raw turmeric, even on dark skin (I have dark skin). AND make sure to use turmeric for the skin. Not cooking turmeric. Skin turmeric is of higher quality.
