It's amazing how quickly everything changes! It still looked so green and lush in September. It's so miserable now, and unfortunately the nature of my job means I have significantly less time! I'm determined to keep active though. Btw, you recommended some walking boots a while back, but I can't find the link! I'm looking to get some soon.
@mywalksUK2 ай бұрын
@Bishie87 we were very fortunate, the weather in Scotland was perfect, while back in England it was raining hard with lots of flooding. Ive recently changed my boots to Karrimor Skiddaw from Sports Direct. The main reason for choosing these was that they have leather uppers and by using Dubbin wax, Iv'e found it easier to keep them water resistant. Hope you manage to get out and active👍

I’m super excited to watch this! I cycled along the Grand Union from Hemel to Berkhamsted with my nephew during the summer, it was absolutely beautiful. I’m missing the spring and summer now that we’re in the throes of autumn. The dark nights are so depressing! How do you cope with the changes?
@mywalksUK3 ай бұрын
@Bishie87, I make sure that I take plenty of vitamin D and I also have a lamp that simulates daylight to help with the depressingly grey days. Mrs W and I have membership at our local leisure centre. This really helps on the rainy days, as I can use the treadmills in the gym to practise hill climbing. I do this by turning the gradient up by 1% every minute until I get to 15% (maximum) and then se how long I can last, before reducing by 1% every minute.
